Chapter Thirty-Five

I sat out once we finished our last penalty punishment as I was drinking water. Gotta stay hydrated you know?

Everyone made it to the end and final day of training camp. A lot of things happened in just these two weeks... I almost feel like I'm going to miss this all... Almost.

I smiled as the others came inside the gym to cool down, Noya and Tanaka sat in front of the AC cooler, turning it to full blast and wiping their sweat. I walked over to them and handed them some cold water. "Hydrate yourselves now," I said with a smile. The two boys grinned widely at me as their energy was suddenly recharged in matters of seconds and took the bottles in hand.

I walked back to the bench... but stopped in my tracks when I picked up a warm, delicious, grilling scent coming from outside the gym. "Has it... arrived?" I asked. Everyone else perked up one at a time as everyone stood up individually and slowly approached the doorway... before running out of the gym like a stampede. "BARBECUE!!!!!" We all yelled.

Outside, Everyone had hunger in their eyes as they all picked up a paper plate, spoon and fork. 

Though the coaches gathered everyone together for a quick and short briefing about our progress during this camp. 

My stomach was making the rumblies as I licked my lips, looking at each grill... which should I go first? Grilled fish? Grill stake? Grilled pork? I know... F/g (favorite grill)! Yea,  I'll start with the one I love the most!!

The managers are cutting up some vegetables, though I have noticed that Elycia and Kiyoko are avoiding any interaction with each other. When they do interact though...they have this killing aura similar to Yaku and Suga when they converse with each other. That thought alone ran shivers down my spine... better not ask anything between them.

"Apparently, even Bokuto-san has his bad days..." Tsukishima said out of the blue once everyone was dispersed. 

"Yea, he self-destructs at the most random times," Akaashi replied as he was rolling his shoulders and stretching his arms.

Everyone had gathered around the grills as it was already hard for me to get through them as I sighed deeply.

"Y/n the Tiger, would you like my grilled f/g?" Ushijima asked me as he approached me with three plates he was carrying. "I have taken one of too many."

"Really Willy Waka? It's alright?" I asked with big pleading eyes. He gave me an approval nod as I took one of the plates. "Waka you are so sweet thank youuu!"

"Hey, N-n!! you can have mine too!!" Atsumu called as he jogged over to me.

"Yours is half eaten dumbass, have mine instead." Osamu said as he came over to me as well. 

"Guys, I don't really eat a lot-" I began.

"Y/n-chan, you can have mine too.." Kenma said from behind him me.

"I swear to god, with your quietness, you'd fit in to be a fucking ninja." I said.

Here N/n-san, you can have mine, its still warm compared to all of theirs." Sakusa said, pinching in. 

The next thing I know, I was surrounded by all of them handing me plates of grilled f/g.... I suddenly lost the appetite for that...

Elycia was just minding her own business and eating a jumbo bag of marshmallows with Yachi as they were talking.... If I'm going to suffer through this, I want to bring someone down with me, and since F/n isn't here, at least I don't think so, Elycia is his substitute.

"June!! Those marshmallows look scrumdiddlyumptious!!" I called out and quickly slipped out of the crowd, feeling the burning glares of the boys pass me and right to Elycia.

Elycia can sense it all as she turned her head to me with a smile so menacing it almost matches Suga's expression. She didn't want to give up her side character role, she suffers with me. "You motherfu-"

"HEEEEY That's greaaatt!!" I interrupted her as I munched on a handful of marshmallows. Unlike the boys, the girls particularly just simp over me, excluding Yachi, she seems way more of a simp for Elycia. Though I do find the two cute together... since they are together wherever the fuck we go. Even so, I can still feel those burning eyes on her and her giving me the "I can't believe you've done this" face.

"You done goofed trying to get me, a SIDE character INVOLVED in your romantic pentagram" She said, "well, NOT TODAY SATIN!"

"...Wait, Satin..." I said playing with my words. "Like...the fabric?"

In response to that, she threw the bag of marshmallows to my face as Yachi snorted a small laugh. "G-Gomen! gomen!" She said afterwards.

I just blinked and picked up the bag and ate one marshmallow off the floor. "Five second rule." I said while chewing the marshmallow in my mouth.

I went back to the others to enjoy the barbecue as I hung out with each and every single one of them, starting with Kags and Hinata during Kageyama's choking scene while eating to fast and Akaashi handing him water, then with Tsukishima and Kenma who refused to eat anymore food, given by their captains... though they're not complaining when I feed them like babies. I had to deal with the twins competing with each other with everything... Suna tells me this is normal... but is it really normal to just mix grilled food, and soda, then stuff them in your mouth to see who can swallow it without chewing? 

I think they need serious help... HOW DO THEY EVEN STAY FIT AFTER THAT?!

Everyone went back to enjoying the barbecue. I made an excuse before jogging to the dorms to get my bag as I looked for something, humming to myself before taking out a wireless speaker. Yes, wherever I go, music follows, though I hope it can be loud enough..

I was examining the speaker to see if it had more juice in it, walking out of the room and back outside.

Snap!

I turned my head to my side as I heard a camera sound nearby. The same one I heard back in Karasuno High before we left for this camp.... I furrowed my brow as I began to shuffle my feet uncomfortably and jogged back to the others without looking back.

"Y/n-chan?" Hinata said catching my sudden mood change and demeanor when I reached them all. "You looked trouble, did something happen?" He asked, blinking slowly.

"...Nope." I said as I ruffled his hair, "I just got jumpscared by a squirrel." I replied with a smile and walked over to where the managers hung out. My expression soon changed once I was in the clear for now...

Please don't tell me I have a stalker now...
