A distrait Petra collided with an equivalently absentminded Sam who had been busting out of the back, in the still night. At first, the woman scowled, disgusted by the sight of the blonde, she dipped him up and down.

Over the years of knowing the man she never trusted him, he was always abrasive towards his queen despite her kindness to him. Not only was he hostile to the woman whose ground he should've worshipped but was unnecessarily hard to work with and she'd know because she dealt with him for a while in the past; he was disingenuous and even to her, an equally disingenuous being.

Petra studied Sam for several painful seconds. The vampire's scowl quickly turned into disinterest as she glared over to the imp.

"What illegal thing are you bustling off to do?" She questioned the man whose vexed expression remained.

Samuel's justification for hating Petra was simple; she was evil. He believed there was no difference between her and the Queen's babies, they both had sharp fangs and enjoyed biting people, they were also hostile, however, he couldn't deny that she was insanely beautiful. If he was being completely honest, Petra was beyond beautiful.

"That's none of your business, if you came here for Isaac he isn't around,"

"I didn't come here to see my useless brother," she replied.

"Her majesty, right." Samuel nodded to himself. He sometimes forgot that the vampire and the queen fucked the shit out of each other.

"Well, you're just in time," he said, smirking at the piece of information he kept to himself. "Queen Adira's having dinner as we speak,"

"Who said I was here for the queen?" The woman questioned, draping her hands over the man's shoulder, pressing her cold body to him. Petra was teasing the idiot, she was bored and he was an easy target who unfortunately happened to be in her way.

"Why would you come to see me?"

Samuel was suspicious and suddenly fearful. If the queen saw Petra hugging him the way she did, it was off with his head and he couldn't have that.

"Heaven knows, maybe I'm interested in taking a bite," she replied flashing her fangs and the man pushed her away.

He brushed off the front of his shirt as if to rid it of dust. He was scared of the woman. Sam knew he had no reason to be but as immortal as he was, physical pain still haunted him.

Petra cackled, sashaying from the man.

"Don't worry yourself, sweetheart, I was never going to drink from you. I'm sure you have the filthiest blood anyway,"

Snarling his teeth, the revenant's eyes glowed the bright red, watching the exquisite beast leave. "Fucking bitch," he whispered, walking away.

Petra's heels carried her into the dining room only to stop a short distance away from the large table. Her brown eyes locked with the image of a humbled human sitting close to her beloved, a wide smile on her face.

When the girl saw her, that joyous grin melted away, leaving behind a cold, worried expression.

"Evening Ms Rivers," Petra drawled, her fine heels continued to click when she waltzed right over to the queen, ignoring the pesky human.

Reaching down, Petra planted a firm, passionate kiss against Adira's lips, muttering a Hello darling' subsequently leaving Colette jealous. Her chest burned, her organs felt as if they were scorched by the sun as she watched the vampire kiss the woman she was slowly starting to like.
