There is no gentle spring breeze wafting through the window, nor any sunlight filtering through the blinds this Sunday morning.
The sounds of horns honking on the street below and sirens blaring through can be heard by one listening for them, but you've gotten pretty used to tuning them out. The morning smell of the pavement after rain wafts lazily through the apartment, and a silky, grey fog wraps itself around the city-- yet it's not quite gloomy. The city is in its continuously bustling state, even at eleven on a lazy Sunday.
you buried yourself deeper into the sea of fluffy, plush blankets as a gentle hand absentmindedly combs through your hair.
"Punz." you whispered, and a light, breathy laugh emerges from your half-asleep lover.
you turned around to lay on his side, and Punz follows suit, hugging your frame from behind and resting his nose slightly above the top of your head so he can breathe.
From their window, you see umbrellas of various colours and watches as the rain flowed down their sides in a steady pitter-patter. The rhythm soothes you as your eyes threaten to close once more
your legs tangle with his as you lets out a melodic, satisfied sigh. His chest rests firmly against your back, and he envelopes you within his arms, his humming lightly tickling the back of your ear.
If it was possible to get any closer to him,you would seize the opportunity no doubt. Butyou're quite content being encompassed as you are in the moment, on a sleepy Sunday sheltered from the pouring rain.
They'll wake up and cook breakfast together later, and probably put on a movie or play a board game.
But for now, you allowed yourself to sink further into the covers, safe and sound in Punz's loving embrace. In his embrace the world stopped still on its axis. There was no time, no wind, no rain. your mind was at peace. His embrace was warm, and his arms seemed very protective when wrapped around your body. The world around you melted away as you squeezed him back, not wanting the moment to end.
