~Your POV~

You walk through the Starfleet hanger looking at all of the ships in wonder until you stop at your favorite, the U.S.S Enterprise. Ever since it launched, you've always wanted to be on that ship as one of their Starfleet science officers and explore new places throughout space. You worked so hard on your studies and finally you've made it! Luckily, the boarding ramp was down and you walked into your new home with your luggage only to be met by a Vulcan in a blue uniform.

"Hello, I am Commander Spock. May I assume you are Lieutenant (L/N)?" He introduced in a curious tone.

"Yes I am, but you can call me (Y/N) if you want." You offered as you blushed slightly as you looked into his chocolate brown eyes and admired his profound cheekbones.

"It would be best to stay on a professional level at the moment, Lieutenant, I will show you to your quarters." He informed you with a serious tone and look. The two of you started your way to one of the living quarters. An awkward silence filled the walk to the third deck as you thought of any good question to ask your handsome senior officer.

"Commander, since we are both a part of the Science department, would we be seeing each other often?" You asked with the calmest voice you could manage as you entered an elevator.

"No, I am often on the bridge with our captain." He replied as he looked into your (E/C) eyes.

"I see, must be a lot of fun being able to see space from there." You smiled.

"So I've been told, you could possibly see space from there also, Lieutenant."

"Really?"

"Yes, it's not as probable as you may think due to the hundreds of others who wish to be promoted, but yes, the chance is in fact there."

"Well then I'll just work harder than I have been." You planned with a sly smile as you got off the elevator with Spock. Spock simply nodded his head in acknowledgement and continued to walk you to your quarters. Soon enough, the two of you stopped outside of a door.

"These are your quarters, I live next door if you need me. You are required to be in the labs by 0800 tomorrow, which I will wait out here for you so I can show you to them, goodbye Lieutenant." He instructed.

"See you tomorrow, commander." You replied as he left towards the elevator. You entered your quarters and started unpacking your luggage. Placing your (F/I) on the nightstand by your bed and a picture of your family by it. After unpacking, you threw yourself onto your bed and thought about what has happened, especially with Spock. You couldn't tell how he felt about you, if he liked you or if he disliked you. Later on, you finally fell asleep excited for the next day.

~Spock's POV~

I stood by the ship's entrance waiting for Lieutenant (L/N) as I watched other newcomers arrive. Soon enough, a female human with (H/L) (H/C) hair, (S/C) skin, (E/C) eyes, and wore a blue science uniform and carried a bag of luggage with her.

"Hello, I am Commander Spock, may I assume that you are Lieutenant (L/N)?" I questioned. She turned towards me slightly surprised.

"Yes I am, but you may call me (Y/N) if you wish." She replied blushing slightly as she made eye contact. My heartbeat became irregular, my palms became slightly sweaty, and my temperature rose in my body, specifically my chest and face. Instantly, I suppressed all of my human like emotions and began talking to her some more as we made our way to her quarters.

Though no matter hard I tried I couldn't keep that one emotion away. It was entirely new and rather strong compared to past felt emotions. Suddenly, I remembered a past conversation with my mother about a similar emotion that I've never felt.

Could it be love? No, that's an emotion meant for humans, Vulcan's do not feel such things. I'll see Doctor McCoy after this, and he should be able to explain somewhat despite his limited knowledge. I planned in my thoughts as we talked. Eventually, we made it to her quarters and I explained to her what was necessary for her to do tomorrow.

After we bid our farewells, I made my way to the infirmary.

"Hello, Spock, what brings the hobgoblin here." The Doctor asked teasingly.

"Once again, doctor, I am a Vulcan, not a hobgoblin, I request for you to stop calling me that, it is unreasonable. As for my reason for coming here, I have experienced a change in my health and require your knowledge." I replied. The doctor raised his eyebrow and looked at me with both curiosity and worry.

"Well, what's the matter?" He questioned.

"When I was with Lieutenant (L/N), my body temperature raised in my body, especially in my chest and face, my palms became slightly sweaty, and my heartbeat became irregular. Do you have any clue what this disease could possibly be?"

"It's not a disease, it's an emotion."

"Do not insult me, doctor, Vulcans do not have emotions."

"You're not fully Vulcan, Spock. You're half Vulcan, and what you're feeling is a romantic connection, love if you will."

"That is a most illogical diagnosis."

"Well, love isn't logical, it's random and different."

"I will not say I am in love, doctor."

"I'm not saying you have to, but you are feeling it and you're going to have to deal with it! Hell, you don't even have to act upon it! Besides, at this stage it's just a silly crush."

"Goodbye, doctor."

"Goodbye, Spock." The doctor growled as I made my way out of the door. Once I was out of the room, I heard the doctor curse about me as I made my way to the bridge.
