~Your POV~
You wake up in what you assume is the morning and rolled out of bed to get ready for the day. Walking out of your quarters, you're greeted by a pointy eared Vulcan named Spock.
"Hello, Lieutenant, you are prepared for work I assume?" He greeted with his hands behind his back.
"Good morning, Commander! And yes, I am ready." You smiled looking in his eyes as your heart thumped, full of sudden nervousness and warm butterflies.
"Good, follow me." He instructed with the same amount of sternness as yesterday. The two of you then made your way to the science labs of the ship as you passed by other officers, the gold cuffs reminding you of your ranks.
"Lieutenant, are you alright? You seem to be distracted." Spock interjected, pulling you out of your thoughts.
"Oh! S-sorry, I got lost in thought." You stumbled.
"It is quite alright, and there's no need to apologize, lieutenant. While I have your attention, you do work in the botany department, correct?"
"Yes, that's correct."
"Well, if my memory is correct, you should be working on breaking down what makes up a certain powerful healing herb that the away team and I found on our latest visit to a planet, but the plant has a harsh side effect on humans and we wish to get rid of that."
"Interesting! I will work hard to help with figuring that out."
"Good, if you didn't, I would be worried about how serious you took your job. Speaking of which, Lieutenant Commander Higgins, the officer in charge of the botany department, is here to direct you further." Spock directed his attention towards the man walking towards you two. The man had slicked back hair and a long blue shirt with one full gold cuff and another gold cuff that looked like a dotted line on each sleeve.
"Hello, Commander and Lieutenant. Would you like me to take her off your hands, sir?" He asked with a teasing smile.
"She isn't on my hands, Lieutenant Commander, she's actually quite well behaved. But you may show her her work so that I may take my place on the bridge." Spock corrected.
"Of course, follow me Lieutenant- (L/N), is it?" He asked with a smile.
"Yes, what will I be working on?" You asked as he guided you to your work station.
"You will be working on computer work, actually. All of the rookies are paper pushers at first, so don't worry. Just follow me and I'll show you to your cubicle." He insisted. You were naturally, a bit disappointed that you couldn't do more, but pushed it aside.
"Sounds good!" You smiled. Once at the cubicle, he explained what the assignments were, where to find them, and such things in that area along with your schedule. You nodded along and once he was gone, you sat down and began working on your assignments. Most of which was spell checking and fact checking reports and papers the ship was publishing on newly found flora and fauna.
~Spock's POV~
I woke up in the morning and got dressed. Placing my phasor in my belt, I walked out of my quarters and waited outside of (Y/N)'s. A few minutes passed, and soon enough the (Y/H) Lieutenant came out. Instantly, I felt my heart throb at the sight of her.
"Hello, Lieutenant, you are prepared for work I assume?" I greeted with a stoic manner. She looked at me with a beaming smile.
"Good morning, Commander! And yes, I am ready." She replied with a sweet tone. Once more, I could feel my palms become sweaty as she talked to me.
"Good, follow me." I instructed. I began to guide her to her workstation and I began to notice her drifting off into thought.
"Lieutenant, are you alright? You seem distracted." I asked, instantly she shook her head and snapped herself back into attention.
"Oh! S-sorry, I got lost in thought." She laughed embarrassed. Her cheeks were flushed red with embarrassment. I dragged her attention to a new topic and we continued to talk as we walked. Soon enough, we made it to the science area and introduced her to Lieutenant Commander Higgins.
"Hello Commander, and Lieutenant. Would you like me to take her off your hands, sir?" He greeted with a teasing tone.
"She isn't on my hands, Lieutenant Commander, she's actually quite well behaved. But you may show her her work so that I may take my place at the bridge." I answered. The two headed off and as they talked I could feel a small shiver of envy breeze down my spine, just like I would do with any other emotion, I shoved it away and made my way to the bridge.
"Spock! How are you doing?" Captain Kirk greeted with a smile.
"I am doing well, Captain." I replied.
"I bet you're doing well, Sir. You have been hanging out with that new girl lately." Sulu teased with a snarky smile.
"Her quarters are next to mine and I was assigned to show her around, it is only natural that I am around her often."
"Whatever you say, Commander." Sulu sneered back as he got back to work. I still don't understand humans' fascination with love and emotions. But yet, one human wouldn't leave my mind and despite the fact that I have just met her, I seem to can't get her out of my thoughts; the amounts of thoughts I have surrounding her is quite frankly, illogical.
