Beverly's and Ben's Time A Part From The Losers

Ben and Beverly were now on their way to Ben's from the Hospital, where he got treated for the slashes he received from Pennywise. Fortunately, the gashes were not too deep, so the doctor wasn't suspicious about the injury. The two teens played it off as a play fight gone a bit too far. His wound just needed a good sterile cleaning and some antibiotic cream. The whole situation was a very quick process, and Ben was free to go home shortly after with an appointment at a later date to get his stitches removed. But the redheaded girl, ever so worried, wanted to make sure her soulmate was okay to walk and such, so she walked him home.

The trip was filled with a peaceful silence before Beverly suggested they have a Star Wars Marathon later that week. Ben disagreed. He thought Star Trek was the superior space show and that that should be the show they watch.

"B, I'm going to have to disagree with you on that! There is no way Yoda would lose in a fight against Spock! Yoda could blink and the Vulture dude would explode!"

"It's Vulc- You know what I'm not even going to correct you. I honestly never knew so much wrong and blasphemy could be spoken before I heard what you just said." The chubby teen shakes his head in disbelief.

"I say only the truth, not this blasphemy you speak of! Yoda is better than Spock, hands down." Beverly mockingly gasps out.

"Lee! Yoda doesn't even have any badass parts! He's an old green troll! Where is your logic in that?" Ben argues. Beverly gasps loudly.

"Yoda is not a troll! He may be old, but age doesn't matter to him! How dare you speak so poorly of him! Age doesn't matter to him! Besides! If they were going to come back and tell an earlier story, like they told Anakin's rise and fall into Darth Vader. Pretty sure they would absolutely have to bring Yoda back! So, he'll be younger then, and way more agile and badass and totally capable of kicking Spock's ass. Yoda is better, end of discussion." Beverly states with finality.

"Lee, how in the world could you think Yoda is better?! Spock is so friggin strong minded! He could definitely avoid the compulsion of The Force." Ben argues, now wondering what kind of soulmate matchmaker would give him a soulmate with this characteristic.

Before Beverly could reply, they reached Ben's house. The couple realized that Ben made it home safely, and unfortunately for them it was time to part ways for the night. The redhead grabbed her love's hand to gain his attention.

"Promise me you'll call first thing when you wake up? I have a landline in my room now, B. So, you can call me anytime." Beverly worries, her eyes searching his for any small reason to stay. But they both know what would happen if that happened for the thousandth time.

Al Marsh would start to become suspicious if she told him that she was sick and needed rest anymore. And that was something they did not need.

"I know, Lee. I'm fine, though. There's no need to worry. The doctor said that it wasn't that bad. But yes. I will call you when I wake up." Ben spoke firmly, looking her directly in the eyes. Beverly, now satisfied, gave him a sweet kiss goodbye and watched him go inside his house before she headed to her own.
