Shela had always enjoyed reading, wherever she went. She would always bring a book with her to pass the time, even after she became a ranger. After a long day of fighting against a monster, she would relax in her room with a book. Sometimes it bothered her fellow rangers as they wanted to hang out with her. But she would say no because she was too busy reading, her two sisters however Kristina and Kyra. Told their teammates not too worry about it, and that she would come around eventually.

"Shela come on Artemis gave us the day off and we should have a girls day, " Emma said taking a seat next to Shela on a bench.
"That sounds fun, but I can't.." Shela didn't get to finish because Emma finished for her.
"Got a lot of reading to do I know, girl come on we want to hang out with you, " Emma responded.
"Emma you gotta let me do my own thing, " Shela answered. "Besides go have fun with the girls, " Shela continued. The purple ranger got up from the bench and began her journey home. Emma sighed as Merry, Kristina, and Kyra approached her.
"So is Shela coming?" Merry asked hopefully that she could bond more with her teammate.

"No I got the usual response, " Emma responded. The white and black ranger both sighed at the same time.
"Hey don't look so sad you guys, Kyra and I will talk to her, " Kristina said to them. "Until then come on, we have to get to the mall, " she continued.
"I thought you hated shopping, " Merry commented giving Kristina an amused smile.
"only for clothes, " Kyra answered giving a wink to her sister.
"Its true, I'll go to the mall but I won't shop for clothes, " Kristina said and all of the girls laughed at her response. While the girls were busy having fun at the mall, Shela walked back to the youth center and saw the boys sparring with each other.

"Come on mighty panther, give me all you got, " Johnny challenged. He always found a bit of pleasure in playfully teasing his teammates while training with them.
"Alright but remember you asked for it, " Julian responsed and used his quick reflexs to make Johnny trip. The red ranger landed on the mattress with a loud umph.
"Gosh you alright Johnny?" Shela asked from her table. She had placed her book down briefly to watch the two spar.
"I've gotten worse hits, I'll be fine, " Johnny responded getting up like the blow was nothing.

Shela was about to comment on how well he was doing when Ella and Jack entered the gym.
"Really what happened did someone punch you in the nose?" Jack mocked as he walked in and sat across from Shela.
"I thought you two got sent to summer camp?" Julian asked since he hadn't seen either of them in awhile.
"Nope my brother and I stayed in Maryland, because he wants to move there," Ella answered. But it was obviously a lie and Shela picked it up immediately with her empathic abilities.
"That's a lie, " Shela said to her friends.
"Come on beautiful, just drop the book and pay attention to me, " Jack said attempting to flirt with Shela.

"Don't you ever quit?" Johnny asked being completely serious.
"Appearantly not, " Julian said before Jack could answer. Jack and Ella both got offended at their response, so Jack got up to defend himself. But Shela tripped him and he fell flat on his face, causing the rangers to laugh.
"Hey that was uncalled for!" Ella exclaimed. Shela shrugged her shoulders.
"Hey he wouldn't take no for an answer, " Shela said without a second thought. Jack stood up and dusted himself off quite upset about falling.
"Ugh fine you're always reading creepy books, I don't like you anymore, " Jack said sticking his nose in the air. "I guess that makes you creepy to, " he continued.

Shela became visibly upset at his words and stood up to leave.
"Apologize Jack! " Johnny demanded. But he the womanizer refused and walked away feeling quite pleased with himself.
"Hey don't listen to him, he's an idiot, " Julian said trying to cheer up his friend.
"I'm not creepy, I'm just different, " Shela declared running off. Through her magic mirror Chrysalis saw how upset Shela was at that comment and a plan formed in her mind.
"Aww poor purple ranger, no one seems to understand her reading habits, " Chrysalis taunted as she watched the scene. "Don't worry my dear I have the perfect new friend for you, " she continued and then burst into a fit of evil laughter.
