Episode 10: Follow the leader

Kyra was mostly silent when she entered the temple as the rangers had been giving her multiple weird looks non stop since she revealed her identity to them. None of them looked angry expect for Shela, she would no doubt be having a lecture for her later but other then that everything would be okay, until Kristina found out.
"Welcome back rangers I see that you have figured out the identity of the pink ranger, " Artemis said to them and Kyra jumped in suprise upon seeing the Goddess for the first time.

"There is no need to be afraid Kyra, I will not hurt you, however I must ask how did you come across that crystal I only created seven and I have no knowledge of an eighth? " Artemis asked and Kyra explained how she had found the crystal while hiking in the woods and it didn't start giving her power until she saved a little boy.
"Well that is how this crystals work, they only bond with those they deem worthy of using their power. " Artemis explained, as Kyra pulled out her crystal from her pocket to look at it.

"Incredible I can't wait to tell Kristina, where is my sister anyway? " Kyra asked noticing that her other sister wasn't present.
"I have sent her on a personal mission, she will return shortly. However until then you must be ready to protect the city from Chrysalis with your new team. Can you do that? " Artemis asked as she made eye contact with the pink ranger and the young girl nodded, she wanted to prove that she could be a power ranger.

Meanwhile Chrysalis was watching this whole exchange from her magic mirror and wondered what she could do to destroy the rangers. As now their we're eight rangers, so her brilliant plan had back fired on her.
"Mother you seem troubled, " Raymond bluntly pointed out and Sombra shot the young prince a dark glare.

"I am my dear, because now the rangers are growing in strength while I rot at the bottom of the food chain! " Chrysalis yelled the tone of her voice making anyone near her job, however then she looked at the red ranger through her mirror and a plan formed in her mind. That ranger had been having doubts about his leadership since day one and she had no doubt that could be useful.

"Sombra, " She said now sounding completely calm.
"Yes my queen?  " he answered, whatever it was she wanted he would do, she did create him with her magic after all.
"I think its time the rangers got a taste of their worst fears, go down there and show them how strong your dark magic is. " Chrysalis told him and a wicked smile spread across Sombra's face, oh how he loved to feed off the fear of others.

"It will be done milady, " he said bowing to show his respect and then his eyes flashed green and red.

Johnny felt like he was in a bit of a tight spot, as even though being a power ranger was one of the best things  to ever happen to him, he still didn't understand why he off all people was chosen to lead. I mean a leader was supposed to be fearless, intelligent and skilled. He was no doubt skilled in combat but he was by no means fearless as even though on the battlefield he acted courageous.

His worst fear was that he would fail his team or worse they would all be hurt but he would be powerless to help. Now they had a thirteen year old on the team, which only made his fear grow. Yes Kyra was very skilled as she had signal handedly took on a monster by herself by she was still just a kid. His thoughts we're interrupted by Artemis sensing trouble.

"Another monster? " Merry asked recognizing  the look on the Goddess's face.
"No I fear it is something much worse, I haven't sensed a presence like this since my last encounter with Chrysalis. I hope I am wrong but I believe she may have sent Sombra. " Artemis explained and the rangers looked around in confusion as they had no clue who Sombra was.

"Who is Sombra? " Julian asked, and everyone else seemed to know the answer to that as well.
"A being made completely out of Chrysalis's magic, before I banished her she would use her magic on other people however when that didn't work. She decided to make her own army, and so she created Sombra there is no one more devoted to her then he is. If it him you must take caution rangers he is very dangerous. " Artemis warned them, however they all assured her that he was nothing they couldn't handle.
