It was a tiny little sliver of a river,
If a river's what they said that it would be,
And the ocean was no bigger than a duck pond,
But it seemed like the universe to me.
I walked the forest path that was downtrodden,
And wrote my thoughts on every forest tree,
And I waded in that tiny little river,
As it rushed to that dirty little sea.
I hid from storms in forbidden shelters,
Took pictures of the wonders I could see,
I made friends out of strangers by the water,
Browsed flowers like the busy bumblebee.
My world was little bigger than a duck pond,
But it was the universe to me.
