A Poet's Pretty Words

Well, pretty words hide darkest thoughts,
And satin lips mask hidden knives.
She’ll have you hanging on every syllable,
And the poison she’s described so well will make you feel dizzy.
They say bright colours exist to ward off predators,
What can be so scary about something so beautiful?
You’ll know once you know her,
Or any like her,
You’ll know that her ink is either tears or blood,
And her words are drawn from still-beating hearts,
Because pretty words hide darkest thoughts,
And satin lips mask hidden knives.
