Chapter 37: DIO is an angsty, edgy teenager when it comes to his feelings.

Y/N looked about him. It had been a few nights and Y/N hadn't seen any new stand users popping up to come and attempt to kill him. To be honest . . . this worried him. Normally he wouldn't get this much of a break in between stand users. He sighed and looked over to Kazuma, Darkness, Aqua, and Megumin all sitting down at a nearby campfire they had made and were up to their usual shenanigans. 

Y/N looked away from them and out towards the forest. He had . . . Changed. He wasn't the person he was before, and he was confused. Why did he change? Why did he now feel guilt over his actions. He sometimes wished he hadn't changed. All these . . . new feelings- they confused and hurt him. He punched a nearby tree, quickly turning around to make sure no one had heard that. Luckily, no one did and he sighed in relief.

Suddenly he felt a hand on his shoulder. He stopped time and turned around, seeing it was only Wiz. He let time resume and Wiz had a slightly shocked expression for a second. "DIO-Sama . . . Are you alright-?" She asked, a look of concern coming over her face.

Y/N let out a confident grin which masked what he had been previously feeling before. "Of course I am alright- Why would you assume I'm not? If its because of the tree I was just surprised by a nearby bug that I felt like utterly destroying."

Wiz looked over to him and thought for a moment. "Y/N are you-?" She began to say, reaching out a hand towards him.

For some reason Y/N slightly panicked and backed up a bit, his face betraying him with a look of fear. Wiz noticed this and hesitated for a moment before running up and hugging Y/N. He blushed and was slightly shocked. "W-Wiz- What're you-"

"Shhh." She said, holding onto him. 

The two stayed there for a moment, and Wiz eased up on the hug. "DIO-Sama . . . You don't need to lie. We're all your friends, you don't need to hide how you're feeling from us." 

Y/N's lower jaw trembled a little for a moment before stopping to have that prideful grin again. However although most of his face was showing that grin, his eyes showed Wiz the truth. That he was hurting, from guilt about his past and everything he had done. He had begun to hate the fact he changed due to the pain he had never really felt. Not when he was alive, and not even in death until now. Even Y/N's voice betrayed the mask he attempted to show. 

"I-I'm fine- Wiz. If anything, I should ask you if you're alright. Although, Kazuma and the others could probably do a better job than me at helping you. In fact, it's mostly through me that you might be not alright." He said, grinning and covering his eyes with a hand that also ruffled through his hair.

He looked at her and with great emotional pain he pushed her away, breaking the hug she was giving him. Wiz attempted to get back closer to him but he backed up and held out a hand to stop her. A shadow covered his eyes and the tone changed. Y/N had to do this.

"As I think about it, it'd be better if you all leave. Any of you getting hurt is only going to slow me down and it's not good for your health either. My advice is you all take the cart and turn it around. Go live your lives to how you wish to, but don't bother me with it. You all will only get in my way."

And with that, Y/N stopped time, going over to the path and going as far down it as possible to the point where they could barely see him.
