Chapter 25: The Begining of Keele's Dungeon

Megumin and Yunyun did their little challenge thingy, Megumin winning once again. It turned out the crystal that could help you make friends simply showed your embarrassing moments and Yunyun ran off too embarrassed to continue.

It was the next day, and Y/N sighed as he sat at the table with Kazuma, Megumin, and Aqua. Everyone's stomachs grumbled. Well, everyone's except for Y/N's.

"Tomorrow, we're going to a dungeon," Kazuma stated.

"No." Megumin replied.

"We are." Y/N said.

"No, no way! I mean, I'm practically useless inside a dungeon! I can't use explosion magic, which makes me an ordinary civilian!" She yelled.

"I understand, but still. You all are low on money and in desperate need of food." Y/N said firmly.

"Remember when you joined up with us, and you said you'd carry our bags, or whatever we needed?" Kazuma said reminding her. 

"W-Well, what about you Y/N?!" Megumin yelled. "You've got tons of money and you don't even pay for us-!"

"I, DIO, am not here to pay for your simple human necessities! You three are to pay for yourselves."

Megumin pouted.

"Hey," Aqua started, "can't we wait until Darkness gets back?"

"Honestly, who knows when that will happen." Y/N muttered.

"Listen up!" Kazuma yelled, "Right now we've got as much debt as some countries! If we don't do something, we're gonna starve to death!"

"What!? Even though I'm folding all those milk cartons and selling those vegetables nonstop every day?!" Aqua yelled.

"Those side and part-time jobs are never going to bring us the kind of money we need!" He yelled back, slamming a poster down onto the table.

"For beginners . . . Keele's Dungeon? Hasn't that place been thoroughly explored already?" Megumin asked.

Luna, the female guild member walked up to them. "Recently, a new passage was discovered by accident, so there was going to be a large-scale quest to escort the survey team, but . . . " she paused.

"We asked if we could have the first go at it." Y/N finished.

"That being the case, the other adventurers know nothing about it yet."

"I see . . . " Megumin said, "then there might be undiscovered treasure in the unexplored areas." She concluded.

Y/N, Kazuma, and Luna all gave a thumbs up.

One of Kazuma's friends popped up, "Yoo, what's this I hear about treasure?"

Kazuma got close to him and grew serious.

"It is a serious matter. I don't want you to get dragged into it." 

While Kazuma was saying this, he gave him a ticket for the succubus alley.

"It expires tonight . . . " Kazuma's friend noted.

"Better make good use of it then."

"You can count on me!"

Kazuma's friend walked off, preparing himself for some rather  l e w d  dreams.

"Hmm, for a lowbie dungeon, it's annoyingly far from town." Aqua noted.

"Being this far from civilization, I can use my explosion magic." Megumin said excitedly

"We're going underground, so I'd advise against doing so." Y/N replied while scoping out the area.

Megumin started to ramble about how the dungeon was created by the kingdom's greatest archwizard, and Y/N tuned it out.

He noticed some odd markings on the side of the entrance.

"Interesting . . . " He mumbled while further inspecting the seemingly ancient runes.

"Oi, Kazuma. I'm gonna head in." Y/N said, already halfway into the dungeon.

"Hey wait up! Oi, DIO!" Kazuma yelled while running up to him.

Kazuma and DIO walked down the flight of stairs, both of them being able to perfectly see in the poorly lit conditions. Aqua also decided to go down with them.

"Are you two really able to see in this dark?" She asked.

"Yes, I am." Kazuma sighed, "Also didn't I tell you to stay up there?"

Aqua smirked, "Have you forgotten who I am? This archpriest is just an alter-ego. Go on, say it! State my real class!" she said to them smugly. 

"You're a debt Goddess" Kazuma said.

"You're the Muda Goddess" DIO said.

"No I'm not!" Aqua cried, "In spite of everything, I'm still a goddess! I may have lost some of my powers down here amongst mortals, but I still have a godlike power or two up my sleeve!" 

Aqua then ran over to a nearby treasure chest.

"Man, these really are all empty."

Y/N and Kazuma continued to look around.

"The thing with dungeons is that there are always undead in them. And they stalk the living by following their life force. This means that the Lurk skill isn't going to work on undead monsters."

"It's still no matter. My all-powerful, 『Za Warudo』can still beat the living hell out of them. Or lack of living in this case." Y/N replied nonchalantly.

"E-Even still, I have to go with you two!" Aqua said a little panicky.

"Hmph . . . Alright." Y/N said while shrugging and smirking.

"Treasure treasure treasure la la la! Treasure treasure treasure la la la!~" Aqua sung.

"Why do I have a bad feeling about this." Kazuma groaned.
