Chapter Twenty Nine

"When it comes to you, it is my business apparently."

Pa-ulit ulit na umaalingawngaw sa utak ko ang mga salitang binitawang iyon ni Reid kanina. And because of that I dismissed the meeting earlier than expected.

Gusto ko sana siyang sigawan at sabihing wala na siyang pakialam sa akin o sa kung ano pa man ang gawin ko ngunit hindi ko ginawa. I just give him a mocking laugh for what he said.

How dare him?

He's married! And why isn't he wearing their wedding ring? Is he planning on cheating on his wife? And what huh? Does he plan to make me a mistress?

Ugh.

Stupid arrogant jerk!

Who does he think he is?

"It's Monday and you're already drinking."

Kausap ko sa sarili habang mag-isang umiinom sa condo at nakatanaw sa labas ng bintana. I think I made the right choice when I was decorating this place, I opted for big windows all over the place. The windows in the living room are all from floor to ceiling and so is my room. I've always wanted to see everything outside.

Naguguluhan ako. In fact, gulong gulo ako. Hindi ko maintindihan kung ano ang dapat maramdaman. Hindi ko alam. I just know that I'm hurt. I don't want to talk or even see him again but since we're breathing the same air I don't think that my pursuit of that will even progress.

I suddenly remembered what Pierre actually said to me when he visited me in my apartment in New York a few months ago.

"I'm sorry Summer.. he asked me for help and that's what I did." Umirap lamang ako dito. "He said he needed a place to stay, away from the city... kaya sinabi kong pwede siyang magstay doon kay Abuela.. hindi ko rin alam kung bakit until recently, noong nagpunta ako habang nandoon din kayo."

Pumikit ako at umaktong walang naririnig. Ayaw kong makinig. I don't need his explanations.

"Just leave Pierre. I don't really care why you did it, I don't care why he did it..." I said emphasizing every word that comes out of my mouth. "I just don't care.. so just leave." mariin kong sabi saka ito iniwan sa sala saka pumasok sa kwarto.

Tsk.

So silly of me to believe and trust some guy that I don't know anything about.

At exactly eight in the morning, I'm already at the office. Marami pa akong dapat na basahing mga papel at bukod doon ay may mga meeting akong nakaschedule ngayon.

I spent the whole morning going through some files, like contracts, budgets, etc. I even had to review some papers that were from the accounting department just given this morning because I need to check our income and as to where the money of the company goes.

"Miss Summer?" nakadungaw si Faith sa pinto at hinahantay na papasukin ko.

"Come in." sabi ko lang at ibinalik ang tingin sa papel na binabasa.

"Miss Summer our PR team called, their plans and presentations are all finished, and would like to see you later this afternoon if it's okay.."

Tumingin ako sa orasan ko at pagkatapos ay tumingin sa sekretarya.

"What's my schedule this afternoon again?"

She went on with my scheduled meetings later and the way I see it, I have an hour free later but I don't think that I'll squeeze them into that free time.

"I will just meet them tomorrow morning.." Tumango ito.

"Noted po." huling sabi nito bago nagpa-alam at lumabas.
