Arranged Marriage. It's what most Muslims go though, and Afghans are no exception. For Afghan's there is no such thing as 'love marriage'. Well, at least for most of them there isn't. Through generations parents have arranged marriages for their child with a close relative or friend, and the child has nothing left but to agree. Twenty-two year old Negina is left in the same situation. When her parents broke the news to her, Negina is devastated and all she wants to do is die. Dear reader, you've probably heard at least one person say negative things about themselves. Am I right? Well, Negina thinks the same way. She's not beautiful like all her cousins and sister. Impossible to even imagine what she went through in school. All the girls wore makeup and shorts with crop tops and high heels. But Negina's parents are against all of that. Only after graduating high school she was aloud to wear makeup. Shorts? Crop tops? "Never in a million years." Is always her parents answer. But now she's getting married to Khalid Malik. Negina has heard many stories about 'love after nikah' yet when she meets her fiancé for the first time she's more than surprised to see his reaction, and the circumstances she has to live with may be unbearable. ||7/28/18 ~ #25 in #spiritual||
