Chapter 8

"So Melissa, there's these manuscripts here that I want you to see. You only need to read them and give your opinion. By giving your opinion I mean, you basicaly just need to read them and, if you like them take some notes and reroute them to me, but if from the start you don't like them, don't even bother reading the rest. Understood?" Mr. Alex gives me all the indications to start working. I'm so excited about this.

I nod. Mr. Alex didn't want to have me and Sophia here at the same time, so first he called Sophia and now me. I don't know why but that's fine by me.

"Melissa... I don't know why but I have a great feeling about you. I think you're going to be one of my best employees... And I usually don't get wrong about people." Mr Alex says when I stand at the door, making me blush instantly.

"And I hope I won't let you disappointed." I timidly replied.

"You won't. Have a good first day." Mr. Alex says and I smile back, leaving the office.

Usually people hate their boss but it's my first day at work and I already like him. I just really hope to correspond his expectations.

I made my way to my office. My office. But before, I knocked on Sophia's.

"Come in."

"Have a good first day." I say to her, faking a british accent really badly.

"Already mocking the boss? Watch it." she laughs.

"I Don't want to get fired on the first day so I better go."

"Lunch at 1pm?"

"Yeah. The first one to finish work knock on the other."

"Okay. Now let me work, will ya?

I raise my hands in surrender and exit.

My office still has some stuff from the other person but I dont have a box here to pack them up. I'll have to ask someone later.

Sitting on my chair I picked up a pen and instantly fell on an alternative world when I started to read the first manuscript. It's really good so I just took some notes. What a great start. Hope the rest will be just like this one.

I completely lost track of time when Sophia knocks on my door.

"I'm starving, can you please stop being such a workaholic?" Sophia huffs, clicking her heels on the floor"

"Wait let me just grab my bag."

"Oh and just check if you have your phone with you or you will maybe end up bumping with some hot guy on the elevator." She laughs at me, reminding me of yesterdays fail at the elevator and I roll my eyes in response.

We decided to have lunch at the same restaurant of yesterday. We didn't saw Niall today so we don't know if he will have lunch here or not.

We spot Liam and Zayn on a table with some other women from the office. They make us signal to join them.

"How's going your first day?" Zayn asks, smiling at us.

"Good so far."

"Well these are Melissa and Sophia." Liam introduces us to the rest. "And these are Blair and Amy".

"Hi nice to meet you." The blond one, Blair, greets us. "So you're our recent acquisition? Well, welcome and hope everything will go great." she smiles. The other, Amy, remains quiet. Maybe she's a bit timid.

"Thank you, we hope the same." Sophia smiles back.

"Did you see your cousin today?" Liam asks Sophia.
