Arima Kousei POV:
Two days passed by so quickly after I had stayed with August. I was already able to calm down and strategize what should be done against Ryota Watari. He was my best friend but now that he had betrayed me, I won't think about our old friendship.
Jupiter and my father, Takahiko were both just staring at me so strangely and anxiously at the living room of our mansion in Las Vegas, Nevada. I know that they were just worried for my safety. In the three years that I had lived in the United States of America, I had been safe and sound but now, I'm currently in danger, and the group's in danger because of my best friend! I don't understand Ryota and his reasons for going to a man like Valentine Gunns!
Why did my best friend choose to try to pull me down through him? Did no one inform Watari Ryota how dangerous it was to go against me and my uncle? Is he so frustrated that I wasn't the Arima Kousei he once knew when we were fourteen years old? There are tons of reasons why I don't want to abandon the deal but I have to face Ryota. It's the only reason why I want to continue on the deal.
I'm glad that Seto Hiroko already told them that I won't go back to Japan and stay there with my biological father as if there's no problem that I have to solve. Meeting Ryota as my enemy will be painful on my part since we were once friends but he chose not to accept what I have become now. He wanted to dig on things he shouldn't be digging.
My elders were already told that I won't go back to Japan like they wanted but it looked like they still wanted me to leave the country! There's no way that I will go against my word when I have struck a deal with Valentine Gunns and run away like a coward! Why will I leave to save myself from shame? He'll just look for me to force me to speak!
"Won't you listen to us, Kousei? It's safer for you to go to Japan," Dad asked me. "Haven't you waited for it for so long? Isn't a long rest away from here all you need?"
