Miyazono Kaori POV:

Days later after we found out that Phoebe Yang was arrested in Japan, Kousei had been meeting with some people in the underground basement alongside Jupiter Ashworth. I didn't ask or talk much against anything anymore because I wanted to understand the man I love better. I am pretty much honest and true to myself that because of how long we haven't met, I know that Kousei had changed. He saw and experienced violence here that made him what he is, now. I can't deny that Jupiter fastened his growth to remove his naivety and childish behavior. Kousei and Jupiter thought that I am in deep sleep when they began talking about Phoebe. I kept my eyes shut so they won't know that I can hear them.

"You don't need to do go to Japan, Kousei," Jupiter told him. "Stay here. That's an order."

"I'm your heir apparent. Shouldn't I act accordingly by how you taught me all these years?" he told him. "I want to make sure that we will be safe. It doesn't mean that I won't leave mine here while I go there to face the woman I hate."

"I don't want Phoebe Yang to destroy this secret world by attacking you and creating a bait. The US Government cannot let go of this underground world since they know how the world will react when people learn about this!" he said to him. "Don't go there and make a scene. You'll inconvenience your father, too."

"Did you and my father suddenly became close?" Kousei stared at him in surprise. "I thought you were angry with my father and grandfather?"

"I've gotten my revenge by allowing myself to raise you instead of your father," he replied to him. "You're happy now that I took you, am I correct?"

"I realized while I'm locked up here that he never really thought of me. He left a fledgling little kid who was grappled by an intense trauma! It had only always been my mom who was on my side!" he answered him dreadfully. "I hate him and no matter what happens to him, I'm not worried or scared anymore! I was able to get back at him already when you took me! Yes, at first, I hated it here but I adapted."

I was alarmed when I heard Jupiter cackle in anger. I opened my eyes immediately and at the time he was about to hit him, I quickly stood up from the bed to hold his hand to stop him from slapping Kousei. I don't know how fast I had moved from my bed to the front of the room but I believe adrenaline rush was a factor.

"Please calm down, sir. I don't want him to be a spy or anything, and even allow him to be a moderator of the underworld just like you but I understand his reason for staying here," I told him. "I don't want him to be in danger, too. I want to go back to Japan, anyway and I think I've overheard a lot of what you were talking about."

I'm sure he's surprised by what I just did but it's the least I can do to help him.

"Kaori," Kousei held my right arm tight. "I don't want you to get involved in my world."
