Y/n's POV
I'm so sick and tired of the gang treating me like I'm 5, especially Darry. I'm not aloud at rumbles, can't walk alone, have to be home by 8 and of course one of the boys must be with me, it's just so annoying. I'm 14! Not 5 anymore.

"Hey Dare? Can I go to the movies tonight?" I ask. Everyone was scattered around the house like usual, while Darry's sitting in his recliner reading the paper. I wasn't actually planning on going to the movies, I just wanted to go over to my friend Sydney's house, we had planned to go to a party tonight.

"Sure, who's going with you?" He looks around the room. I roll my eyes.

"Can't I just go by myself? Just this once?.. I'm not a kid anymore" I plead. He shakes his head.

"No..come on Y/n, you know how dangerous it is for you to go out that late and by yourself" he explains.

"Darry's right, Y/n" Soda charms in.

"Oh come on, I'm not a baby anymore" I plead.

Steve just has to open his mouth about everything, "Ya you are, you still sleep with a stuffed animal" he says.

"So?..it's the stuffed animal my best friend gave me before she moved away" I explain, it's a perfectly good reason why I still sleep with it.

"Whatever" he rolls his eyes. I turn back to Darry.

"Can I please just go by myself, I ain't gonna get jumped" I plead once more.

"That's not something you can promise, so no" he says sternly.

"Fine!" I say as I go back to my room, slightly slamming my door in the process. I can hear Darry groan. Fine, if that's the way he wants it.

"Night Soda" I say as I turn over. "Night" he says walking out of the room. Perfect. Time for action. I hop out of bed and slip on my converse that Pony had got me a while back for my birthday. I slowly and carefully creep my way to my bedroom window. All my brothers were going to sleep now. I jump out the ground floor window, landing on old grass. I close my window so it's only left open a crack.

I start walking to Sydney's, hoping I'm not to late for the party. I start speeding up my walk to get there faster. I rush around a corner of a building to be bumped into a hard chest. Wait-please don't tell me..shit!

"Y/n!?" I look up to see Dal of course of all people.

"Ya?" I ask innocently.

"What the hell are you doing out here at this time of the night! alone!?" He grabs my wrist hard.

"Non of your business" I try to get out of his grip but he just holds my wrist tighter.

"It damn well is my business. You brothers will bash my head in if they knew I let you out here alone!" He says angrily. "So answer the damn question" he says sternly. Which now frightened me a little because he was hurting my wrist.

"I'm just- I'm just...going to a party" I admit.

"Are you kidding me Y/n!..You know damn well, I've told you what people will do to kids like you in this neighbourhood!" He says angrily, still holding onto my wrist.

"I-Im sorry" I say quietly. I can't stand when people yell at me. Like Soda and Pony, I can be pretty emotional.

He sighs and runs his hand through his hair.
"I'm walking you home" he says guiding me to turn around. I don't say anything, just start walking back. Dal not saying anything smart back and just saying 'I'm walking you home' is almost like his apology.

We walked our way back to the house. Good, I didn't see any lights on. "How'd you get out here without Darry seeing you?" He asks.

I point to my cracked open window. "Stupid kid" he mumbles. I walk to my window and jump in.

"Look kid, I don't wanna see you out late like this and alone ever again, you do and I'm telling Darry. Ya hear-" I shut the window, cutting him off mid sentence to piss him off a little. "-Me kid!" I hear him faintly finishing his sentence from out side the window. He flips me off before walking away. I smirk and I slip off my shoes and lay back down in bed. I sigh. Well, that didn't go as planned.
