So I was going through this book and realized I have drafts I haven't finished, including this one, so I might just finish some of them up and post em for you guys :)
Quite a bit happens in this one so I wasn't really sure what to title it..
Y/n's POV
As I walk through the streets of Tulsa, I think about my brother, Darry. It's not fair how he got pulled back to take care of all of us. He should've been going off the collage, making a living, going to frat parties, making friends, getting a girl friend...but since mom and dad past, he never got the chance. He tells us it's 'his job', but I'll probably never let go of that guilt.Knowing me, I tend to get carried away with my thoughts-I didn't even realize where I was going when suddenly, I bumped into someone. "Shit, sorry!" I apologized. I gave a slight smile when I saw Angela Shepard standing in front of me. Her and I were good friends I guess. Darry and Tim used to buddy around, so does Pony and Curly the odd time. Angela was the same age as Pony and I, 14.
"Y/n?" She asked with a smile. She was tough as nails like her brother, Tim, but around me she was...nicer.
"Ya it's me" I chuckled "What are you doing out here?" I look around at the greaser neighbourhood.
"I always walk around" she shrugged. I didn't know what else to say but nod. "Hey..you doing anything right now?" She asked, I could sense a hint of excitement in her voice.
"Uh, no..why?" I questioned. Knowing Angela, you'd almost always have to question her.
She smirked "ya wanna go to a party?" She asked. I didn't know what to say. Darry would kill me if he found out I went to a party...but what he doesn't know, won't hurt him...right?

Angela and I stepped into the front door of where this house party was being held. Before we came here, Angela made me go to her house and let her dress me. She picked out a Jean skirt, a red tight long sleeve, and straightened my hair for me. Not gonna lie, I looked pretty nice."Hey, there's Andrew!" She pointed to some random guy across the room. I farrowed my brow "who?" I ask unsure.
"Some guy from school...heard he's good in bed" she shrugged. I rolled my eyes and chuckled a little...yep, that's Angela Shepard for ya alright.
"So what'd ya wanna do?" I ask as I look around. There were greasers and random people scattered everywhere.
"Well, let's not just stand here...ya wanna drink?" She asked as we walked over to the table, where shot bottles and spills where everywhere. I've never tried drinking, but what could hurt to try it.
"Sure" I said, a little uneasy. She poured each of us a shot before we both downed it. It tasted bad, like...alcohol.
"Feels good right?" She said over the loud music. "Ya!" I kinda lied.
After a while of Angela and I taking shots, I didn't even realize how buzzed I was. Angela was off with some guy, while I slumped around the kitchen.
"Hey?...Curtis?" I heard faintly from the back of my head. I clumsily turned around to see Tim Shepard standing there, oh shit!
"Y-yaa?.." I slurred as I squinted my eyes.
"What the hell in gods name are you doing here?...is my sister here to? Did she fucking drink!?" He fired questions at me. By now, I was sobering up more. Not gonna lie, Tim scared the shit outta me most times.
"Angelaa?.." I slur again. I blink my eyes and raise my brows, trying to straighten up a little.
"my sister, where the hell is she!?" Tim asks as he looks around, hoping to spot her. Last I remembered, she went off with some guy...I wasn't sure if I should tell Tim that though.
"Uhh...I think I saw herr...up stairs?" I lie as I shrug. He rolls his eyes before walking up stairs with his fists clenched. The one thing that pisses Tim off, is Angela.
Not a moment later, Tim came down...with Angela? He had her by the arm as he pulled her over. "Can't believe you!..fucking around with guys!" I heard him mutter before coming over.
"Both of you. In the car. Now" Tim ordered. Great, now he's gonna take me home, I thought to myself.
"Tim just go home!" Angela argued, clearly drunk though. "No!..I ain't leaving you two here"-he looked to me-"and especially not Darry Curtis' little sister, now come on" he said as he pulled her arm. I followed both out to the car as Angela and I sat in the back of Tim's car, he drove obviously.
Angela looked at me, exhausted...well, we both were at this point. "Sorry" she mouthed. I shrugged it off "it's fine" I mouthed back with a slight smile.
————————————
When the car stoped, I looked to see we were outside my house. Great, I wasn't even supposed to go to this party..let alone get waisted. I groaned, not wanting to face Darry as I stepped out after saying bye to Angela and Tim. "Thanks Tim" I muttered before shutting the door. The car sped off. I turned and looked at the house. I could see some lights still on, meaning someone was up. Then I realized it was probably 11-12 at night. A wave of guilt washed over me..about Darry. I probably kept him up all night, I know he needs to work everyday.
I walk up the porch steps before sighing and opening the door. As soon as the door creaked open, Darry jumped to his feet from the arm chair.
"Where the hell have you been!?" He demanded. I was exhausted at this point, all I could do was shrug. He narrowed his eyes. It was only him still awake. knowing Darry, he probably told Pony and Soda to go ahead to bed.
"Are you drunk?...were you at a party!?" He asked.
"I'm sorry" was all I could mutter. He sighed angrily.
"Y/n...you can't just run off for the night and not tell me where you are!...is this what you want, to get yourself thrown in a girls home!?..to have me up all night worrying about you!?" He continued to rant and lecture.
I couldn't help this pit in my stomach, this pit that made me feel absolutely awful. It made me feel like I'm a bad sister, a bad daughter, a bad friend, a bad person. I felt horrible for all the stuff I put Darry through.
I didn't care if he was mad at me right now, I didn't care if he continued to rant...I walked up to him and hugged him tightly, something I've needed for a long time. He was taken back at first. I didn't expect him to hug back, I wouldn't blame him. I then surprisingly, felt his arms wrap around me as well.
I couldn't do anything about the tears that spilt out of my eyes. "I'm sorry, Darry.." I whispered as I hugged him tightly. He stroked my back "I know....it's okay, just don't cry...or do it again, please" he spoke. I looked up at him and shook my head.
"No, Darry...I'm sorry...I'm sorry for holding you back from college, for making you work 10 jobs a day, for not letting you have a life,..for being a bad sister" I cried. All this emotion that has built up inside of me, finally spilt.
"Y/n, why would you say that-don't ever say that...it's not your fault, stuff happens. I don't care if I'm going to college or not, that doesn't mean I don't have a life. I have you, Soda, and Pony, and that's all I need right now...okay?" he pulled me back into a hug. A big weight was lifted off my shoulders.
"Your the best sister, Y/n" he said as he hugged me "and your the best brother, Darry...ya know that right?" I replied. He chuckled a little "I know" he mumbled.
After a minute, I pulled away from the longest hug I've had in a while. I saw Soda and Pony standing in the door way. They both had soft smiles planted on their faces. "Let's go to bed now...I'm tired" I wipe my nose with a chuckle. They all laughed.
