once they were alone, hyuck took the girl's trembling hands in his own and tried his best to stay soft and calm.
"beau," he started, and sua couldn't meet his eyes. donghyuck was glad she didn't. if she looked at him, he would have cracked and told her that he was there that night.
instead, the boy kept her hands in his. "did something happen... with huiseon..?"
the noirette's head snapped up, eyes brimming with tears. "y-yes..."
and sua told donghyuck everything.
he didn't get angry with her, but he felt upset for being upset. it was silly to him, especially how huiseon was the one telling him to take care of sua.
"i'm glad you told me, beau." even if he'd witnessed the action from his own balcony, it was much better hearing her explain versus his immediate conclusions. he trusted his girlfriend more than that.
hyuck held sua when her emotions overcame her, stroking her hair and whispering sweet nothings into her ear.
"i know it's not your fault..." he assured. sua only thanked him and hugged him and apologized over and over again for getting herself in this mess. the boy decided to leave out the fact that he saw the kiss; sua didn't need that hanging over her head.
donghyuck would have easily forgotten the whole thing if he hadn't seen how fast she hugged huiseon once exiting the room.
he knew in sua was a forgiving person, but when the boy saw his easily she'd been able to get over kissing someone else, he began second-guessing himself. was his busy schedule affecting her more than she led on?
his two hyungs came over asking him how it went, their words growing quieter when they saw how his eyes were trained on the roommates.
"hey," taeyong said, voice holding a hidden warning, "they're still friends. that's it."
donghyuck brushing the older's hand off and leaned against the wall. "listen, haechan. don't be upset with sua. it wasn't her fault, for one, and huiseon was also under the influence."
"but she let it—" hyuck cut himself off with a sigh. he didn't mean that, and he knew it wasn't true. he wondered if was he allowed to feel hurt that someone he considered a friend kissed his girlfriend.
the two older boys faced each other, ready to defuse the situation when the younger's phone buzzed. reading the text, hyuck's eyes softened.
"it's yang. he's wondering if chip wants to finally meet bella."

an innocent giggle left sua's lips as she watched her puppy run circles around the beagle. she needed this.
apparently, doyoung and taeyong were the ones who sent a quick message to kun asking about the play date. clueless, the crescent-eyed noirette sat on the floor of wayv's dorm living room surrounded by pets.
