as expected, when sua arrived back at her apartment, the twins were both moping around as they packed their suitcases. the noirette frowned, releasing a huff that grabbed the younger min's attention.
"innie, we have to go for dad's birthday."
sua nodded, shifting her weight between her feet. "i assumed so. will you be back on monday?"
huiseon appeared behind her sister with a shrug. "not sure. mom may try to convince us to stay longer, so we'll see." the youngest sucked her lips in and tipped her head forwards.
hyeseon stepped forward and drop her hand rather harshly on sua's shoulder. "oh sua, it'll be fine. plus, you have all these handsome men to protect you."
the noirette failed to hide her toothy grin as she pushed her elder away. "shut up! i'll be fine on my own..." though she couldn't even convince herself that that was true, both sisters weren't worried because they knew she'd be okay. hyeseon wasn't lying when she said neo had her little roomie's back.
sua shifted her gaze onto huiseon, who wore a pretty deep frown. "it'll be okay, hui! if your mom tries to keep you there, i'll fight her." the short girl brought her fist up in an attempt to look intimidating, only earning her giggles from both sisters.
the eldest placed her bag on the ground and stepped closer to sua. she wrapped her arms around the noirette and placed her cheek on the younger's shoulder. "i just worry about you..."
sua paused for a second before embracing the older girl and rubbing her back. "i don't want you to worry about me," she pulled away, leaving her hands lingering on huiseon's forearms. "spend time with your dad! he was always super nice to me. remember when he baked me a cake for my birthday since my parents were on a business trip?"
both girls turned to the side when hyeseon snickered at the memory. she smiled to herself and glanced at her twin and roommate. "ugh, i wish you could come with us, sua. i'm pretty sure my dad loves you more than me."
it was sua's turn to scoff. "papa min is the best, i swear. but i should probably stay back. plus, hye's right; i can always call one of the neighbors in case of an emergency."
she didn't like the thought of relying on nct only for her personal benefit, but she needed an excuse to convince the twins she'd be okay on her own.
hyeseon patted the girl on the head. "sometimes i forget we're only a year apart. you're technically an adult, but you're still my baby~" the brunette raised the pitch of her voice with the last words, pinching sua's face as if she were still a kid.
sua swatted her elder's hands away, scrunching her nose as she did so. huiseon reached for her bag once again and released a long sigh.
"seriously, our mom is so random. she texted me asking when we'd arrive at home as if she'd planned with us ahead of time."
