The Spades Kingdom was busy today as all the maids and butlers were arranging and designing the ballroom for tonight's ball.

Arthur was watching all of this at the front door beside Alfred.

"Wow, everyone sure is quite busy." He managed to breathe out. He distractedly nodded at some of the maids who waved at them. The King chuckled beside him and agreed, "Well, it's a grand ball so of course they'll be very busy with the preparations!"

Arthur distractedly nodded, not hearing him.

Alfred looked at him, "You're surprised by this? It's normal, you know?" Arthur stopped dozing off and looked back at him, surprise plastered on his face.
"... You monarchies are too much. Can I reconsider my answer and refuse your offer instead?" Alfred grinned at him.

"No, you can't!" He said cheerfully and Arthur sighed, this day is going to be eventful.

"Then, what do you reckon we do today? We obviously can't just keep watching them all day until they finish." Alfred looked thoughtful for a moment, "Fishing? We haven't joined your brothers for a little while now." Arthur stared at him unimpressively, "Have you forgotten? We were supposed to fish with them today, but you decided to skip and drag me along here." Alfred tried to recall,

"I did?" He asked dumbly and Arthur facepalmed. "It's only been a few hours! How could you forget?!" Alfred's face finally lit up. "Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I was the one who told you to skip." Arthur could only groan. "... Piano? It's still early, we could practice."

"Alright, we could do that instead."

"Are you going to Scarborough Fair?"

Arthur sang as he played the piano slowly, trying to hit the notes night. Alfred was next to him, listening to his performance, mostly his singing.

"Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme"

He was in his own world, swaying his head from side to side as he pressed the keys.

"Remember me the one who lives there"

Alfred stared at him, leaning his head on his hand that was on the table, entranced by his voice, who knew that Arthur could sing well? The fisher just never fails to amaze him, he wonders why.

"He once was a true love of mine..."

Arthur finished with a fond smile on his face, it was his favorite song because his mother sang it for him as a lullaby, that's why he was overjoyed when he had found out that Alfred had that piece. Idek what I'm doing anymore

He heard a clap beside him and turned to Alfred, smiling slightly as he rubbed the back of his head.  "That was splendid, Arthur! I never knew you could even sing!" Alfred praised and Arthur puffed his chest proudly. "My mom thought me."

"Your highness~! Here are the clothes for tonight's ball!" A sing-songy voice called out and footsteps can be heard. The two looked at the door expectantly, seeing Feliks and Tolys accompanied by a maid, walking towards them after opening the door, holding two (wtf is that called kfmdmf-) and a small box.

"You two are fast-" Arthur attempted to speak but he was cut off by Alfred's excited ass Fuck you America why did you interrupt him. "Oh! Let us see!" He said eagerly like a kid who's about to open his presents.
