Chapter 16

"Eh~? A letter from Spades?" The Clubs' King asked with his usual high pitched voice.

"Oh! It says here that he'll find his Queen on the ball, so he took my advice after all!" Elizabeta said as she read the contents of the letter, amused.

"Then Alfred still does not have a Queen? That's pathetic, ufu~!" Ivan giggled childishly as he insulted the King of the Spades. Elizabeta sighed,

"You do know that the reason I'm the Queen of this Kingdom is because you didn't want to pick a Queen yourself, right?"

Ivan turned to her, "You said something?" He asked her, as if daring her.

Elizabeta rolled her eyes and muttered under her breath. "Tsk, me and Roderich would've lived happily if you just picked a Queen..."

Roderich and Elizabeta were just one of those monarchies from the Clubs' Kingdom before, living together as they were in love with each other, meanwhile Ivan was ruling his Kingdom alone.

He wasn't interested on anyone so he just ruled the Kingdom by himself without a Queen. He didn't see any problems with it, so what if he was alone? He was capable of ruling.

However, the Grand Council had enough of it and told him to find someone. Ivan ignored this ofcourse, then the council threatened to force him into a marriage with anyone they deemed alright. The childish man still ignored it, saying that it was just an empty threat.

Then one day he just saw a brown haired woman inside his Kingdom, the 4th of Clubs and to be exact, the 2nd Monarchy Princess. And when he asked her what her business was, the genuine shock on his face was visible when she turned around and hit him with a frying pan and started yelling at him,

"You darn idiot, why couldn't you just pick someone else?! Now me and Roderich can never be together!"

And thus, they were forced into marriage, and living with the woman was hard, Ivan thought. She would complain and get mad at him for no reason, and she would hit him with her pan. Ivan had never encountered a woman as hard-headed as her, she never seemed to get scared of him.

He was also pissed and tired of it so he just sent the guards to get Roderich, the 3rd of Clubs, and he quickly made him the Ace as his sister was already the Jack, anything just to stop Elizabeta from hitting and screaming at him whenever he moves.

The man did not even have any experiences in fighting, so instead of taking care of the military, he and Natalia switched positions, but only on the tasks as he has no power on changing Kingdom positions, he only had the power to find someone for empty positions on the Kingdom. So though Roderich was the Ace of their Kingdom, he did tasks that Jacks do, same for Natalia who took care of their military despite being the Jack. She was handy when it came to that as she was skilled at swords.

When Elizabeta found out what he did, she smirked at him and Ivan had never been more irritated in his whole life, she complained and was harsh towards him on purpose!

But she apologized after that, saying that she just loved Roderich so much and she was just mad for being apart with him, and also thanked him for taking Roderich and making him the Ace.

Ever since then, she had stopped hitting him and the two got in good terms, she still complained at him sometimes though.

"I do not care for your relationship with Roderich, you two could be all lovey-dovey with each other infront of me and I would not even bat an eyelash." Ivan retorted,

"But do not actually do that infront of me because I think it is disgusting, and if you do I will all send you two to prison, okay?" He added, smiling wide.
