"Let me out! Willie come back." I was screaming from my room at the top of my lungs, desperate for someone to come and help me. It hadn't taken me long to figure out that Covington must have put his stamp on the boys, or Willie wouldn't have looked so upset. I also knew that this would be the last thing that they would want, so they would most likely just cease to exist. My heart ached. Despite everyone clearly moving on, I still loved them like they were my family. I had no idea what they had gone through since I left so who was I to be mad with Luke for going on with his life?

Everything I was thinking about was making me so much angrier, spurring me to carry on screaming at the top of my lungs. All of a sudden Covington appeared in front of my bedroom door, which startled me into silence. After a few moments of staring at each other he sighed and shook his head.

"Are you finished River?" He said sounded tired. I may have stopped shouting but I had only just gotten started.

"I know you stamped them Covington. Let me out of my room now. Please." I tried to sound commanding while I spoke to him but by then end it just sounded like I was begging. "I will do anything. Please Covington. Just let them go." Something resonated in his eyes, but he didn't respond to me. When he turned to leave, he paused and looked over his shoulder.

"No one can hear you. As soon as a person leaves your room, its like your not saying anything, no matter how loud you scream." And with that, he walked away.

--

The entire day I was sat at the border of my room and the performance hall, watching it slowly fill up with the lifers who had come to see the show. The room was buzzing with excitement, all the way up until 6:30pm when the show usually started. Though tonight Covington didn't show up on time to his stage call which started a low level mumbling of all the staff wondering what had happened to him.

All of a sudden a song started playing, though it wasn't The Other Side of Hollywood like normal. The tune was much more sinister and foreboding, and like clockwork, Covington walked onto the stage.

"Ladies and Gentlemen I'm back" he announced, which caused the crowd to go crazy. "Hello, Hello, Hello" He said to different women in the audience, causing them to swoon. Then his performance started.

It was much grander than normal, and the lyrics where completely different. The song was about taking chances and doing things out of your comfort zone. His choreography was also very strange as it was like he was performing to someone in the wings rather than the actual audience. Despite that, I would have thought it was quite good if it wasn't for the chorus.

"You got nothing to lose, boys." As soon as he sung that one line, my heart sunk. The guys had to be here somewhere, and I doubt that they would be leaving anytime soon. All of a sudden, there was a flash on stage and a boy in a pink suit appeared behind the drum set. "Alex." Covington whispered into his mic. "Show me what you've got."

I exploded. I screamed and screamed begging someone to hear me. It was no use. No matter how much I yelled and banged on the invisible barrier keeping me confined in my room, I didn't manage to get anyone's attention. The were showgirls dancing on the stage, suddenly revealed Reggie in a dark red suit playing his bass behind their feathers.

"Reggie, swing it baby" and he did just that. Seeming to be forced by some unknown entity, he played an entire bass solo until Covington yelled, "Now Luke." When he said those two words my heart stopped.

Luke seemed to be having an internal battle against whatever was forcing him to go onto the stage. No matter how much he pulled himself back into the wings, he was dragged forward and forced to play. All three of them were were in a losing battle and I could do nothing to save them.

The song seemed to be coming to the end after about three minutes and I could tell all three of them were exhausted. This was all I needed for a finally burst of energy and as the song finally ended I managed to push through the barrier.

"COVINGTON!" I screamed at the top of my lungs, which made his head shot up, and before I could get the boys' attention, they disappeared.

As soon as I tried to run out of the club, I was pushed back into my bedroom by one of the other ghosts who also lived here and the barrier was immediately put back up. However, this time I didn't fight it. I was so tired from fighting against the last barrier I went straight to bed. As far as I was concerned the boys could be gone, and though the thought of that broke my heart, at least now they had the choice to either try to pass over, or come to the club. Their hand could not be forced. And feeling content with the idea of that, I drifted into a deep slumber.

--

The next morning, I woke feeling extremely anxious. I completely went against Covington and I knew that it wouldn't go unpunished. I assumed I would have time to prepare myself for whatever was heading my way, but when I sat up in bed, once again, Covington was sat at my dressing table stool. Oh no.

"That was quite a performance last night River." I chuckled uneasily. I had no idea what to say to him so I thought it was best if I stayed quiet for a bit. "Get dressed and meet me at the main door." And all of a sudden he stood up and glided out of the door leaving me extremely confused.

Once I had gotten dressed, I opened the door expecting to see the club filled with the usual day time activities of the ghosts who worked there but I was sorely mistaken. Not a soul was in sight. It was quietest the room had been in all of the 25 years of me living there. With questions flying around my head, I made my way to the front door, wondering what horrors he could be taking me to see this time. When I made it, he was stood holding a large backpack with his back to me. Though I didn't need to announce myself as he said,

"I want you to take this bag and leave." I blinked once. Twice. I could hardly hear what he had said. After 25 years of trying to leave, he was just going to let me go?

"What do you mean leave?" He slowly turned around and dropped the bag at my feet.

"You said you would do anything for the boys to be left alone, so consider this as you doing just that. You have made it very clear that you are ungrateful for everything I have done for you and I won't tolerate this behaviour any longer." He swung the door open and stepped aside so I could easy get past him. I slowly picked up the bad and walked towards the door when he grabbed my wrist, causing a cold shiver to run though my body.

"Mark my words River Beckett, there will be a day when you come crawling back to me, begging my forgiveness." And with that he pushed me out the door and slammed it shut behind me.

I was free. After 25 years in captivity, I was finally free. Sure I would miss Willie but he chose to be at the club. I was forced. I felt so overwhelmed as I realised all of the possibility's of things that I could do. But before I did any of those things, I needed to know that the boys were okay.

Trying to find someone in a place as big as LA was like trying to find a needle in a haystack. I started at all of our old hangouts, most of which had been knocked down or turned into something completely different. I then tried the boys houses, but once again had 0 luck. My last idea was to try and find this Julie girl, but realised I knew nothing about her or even how to find someone in this modern world. It was useless.

After walking around the city all day, I couldn't figure out how to do that teleport thing again, I felt exhausted. I just wanted a place to crash. I decided to try the old studio I lived in after I was kicked out of my moms home. However, when I was about to walk down the drive I saw a teenaged boy walking away from the house and a young girl shutting the door. Julie!

I ran up to the door and knocked on it a bit harder then I intended and almost instantly the door opened again.

"Look bro, she already turned you do-" However the person who opened the door was not Julie.

"Luke?"

AHHHHHHHH

When I say I have been looking forward to this point, I hope you all know just how much I mean it. From the start I have wanted to get into my Luke content but I've had to be patient. Now the story can start having the cute boy band moments that we have all been waiting for :))

Bye for now, icantenglish xxxxx
