Do you ever have one of those moments of sudden revelation and you realise that you're doing something that you should definitely not be? That's what happened to me in the second after I kissed Bash and heard the commotion come from several people. I felt Bash get pulled away, which caused me to stumble to the floor. I pushed my hair away from my face only to see Luke on top of of him and Julie clawing at his arms in attempt to any further violence. I shot up from the floor and worked with Julie to try and restrain Luke.

"Luke get off him." I screamed in an attempt to get his attention while Julie held onto his arm to stop him from hitting Bash again. It's like he didn't even register that we were talking to him until he tried to hit Bash again. Only this time when he pulled back his arm to gain momentum behind his fist, Luke's elbow connected with my eye, knocking me once again onto the floor, though this time I wasn't as eager to jump back up. I distantly heard the yells of my friends getting closer, but I didn't sit up. Instead I stayed on my back trying to stop my head from spinning and ears from pounding.

"River what the hell happened, are you okay?" A frantic voice called before Carries face came into my vision. I groaned and attempted to sit up, which caused Carrie to help by taking my hand and pulling me into a sitting position.

"I'm so stupid. I got in the way of a fight." My hazed brain suddenly focused on the events that had just happened and I felt a lump in my throat. "Its all my fault. I'm such an idiot." My voice caught on the last word and I put my head in my hands whilst taking deep breaths in an attempt to stop any tears. I felt Carrie wrap her hands around me before she shouted at the onlookers.

"Party's over. Everyone out!" To which they responded with groans before people started making their way out of the front door. Once people had left, she helped me stand up before leading me to a toilet.

"Occupied, there's someone in here!" A voice from inside yelled, but Carrie ignored it.

"Well I can't exactly take her to the other bathroom where Luke is, can I?" She pushed open the door, which revealed Connor and Alec knelt next to each other on the floor while they tended to the wounds on Bash's face. I cringed as I saw just how badly it was injured in the fluorescent lighting of the bathroom. He looked up at me and grinned his goofy smile before wincing. He held up an ice pack to the left side of his face.

"Hey babe. Come on I don't look that bad, do I?" He attempt to lighten the mood made me feel even guiltier. I mustered up a smile for him.

"Of course you don't. Just as handsome as ever." My weak effort for a joke didn't go unnoticed by him and brought a low chuckle from his throat. I knelt next to his spot on the toilet and took his hand. "Bash I am so sorry I don't know what I was thinking! I shouldn't have dragged you into my drama and I certainly shouldn't have kissed you to make another guy jealous." He started laughing which made my rambles stop.

"River are you kidding? This was the most eventful party I've been too in a long time. And besides, it was a complete honour to be used by you. Feel free to do it whenever you feel like it." He winked at me with the one eye which wasn't swollen. I sighed.

"I appreciate you trying to make me feel better, but you shouldn't have too. This is still my fault." I leant over and took the cloth from Alec's hands and attempted to clean the cut on his lip.

"Even if it is your fault, I'm not going to hold it against you. Everyone makes mistakes. And besides." He held his ice pack against my eye which until now, I didn't realise was throbbing. "You look hot with a black eye."

After getting cleaned up with Bash, I decided to go upstairs to my room so I could change into something that wasn't covered in Flynn's cherry cocktail. I was currently sat on my bed while Carrie was in her room looking for something that I could wear when I heard a knock at my door.
