After my morning lessons, I finally found myself finally joining my friends at the lunch table. I slung my tray into a spot between Alec and Carrie and slid into my chair."Woah Beck. You good?" Bash said as the tray made a loud bang. I groaned and put my head on the cold table.
"I have just had gym class. That, along with avoiding Brodie all morning, my day has not been brilliant." I mumbled into my arms, feeling Alec pat my back in pity.
"Why have you been avoiding me?" A deep voice from behind me questioned. My head shot up and I slowly turned around to see Brodie and Aiden stood next to each other. I heard Carrie snicker under her breath, to which I responded with a swift kick to the ankle.
"Er, I haven't been avoiding you, where on earth would you get that impression?" I chuckled nervously. The two of them walked around the table and sat across from me.
"Jesus your eye." He muttered under his breath causing me to subconsciously raise my hand to touch the tender skin. "And I heard what you said just now. You have been avoiding me."
"I don't think we should do this right now Brodie. Can I call-" My words were cut off as a tall man walked up to the table along with the Principle and Miss Harrison.
"Just the group of kids we were looking for. Do you mind coming with us please?" Miss Harrison winked at us and beckoned us to follow her. Me and Carrie looked at each other before following the rest of our friends who were already behind the small group of teachers.
We were led into the same room that I had been in a few weeks prior when I had first joined the school. This time however, there was a large table that already had 4 people sat around it.
"Wow, your day just keeps getting better." Alec snickered to me, causing Carrie to laugh when she realised it was Julie and the Phantoms sat around the table.
I laughed humorously before taking a seat across from Luke, who was looking everywhere but at me. I scoffed and leant forward on the table.
"Reggie. Alex. How are you both doing?" I smiled between the two. Reggie's face lit up before he started rambling about the things he has been doing on his base recently. This caused Luke to finally look at me as if he was asking what I was doing. I locked eyes with him and leant back in my chair, daring him to be the one to look away first. We stayed like this for a few moments before the teachers finally joined us in the room, which caused Luke to flinch. I smirked in triumph and settled into my seat to find out why we had been called here.
"As you have probably noticed, everyone we called to this room was a winner of the talent competition." Miss Harrison started. "Well the recordings of the performances were posted on Youtube and went viral." I frowned and looked at Carrie.
"It means lots of people have seen it." She clarified for me.
"Over the weekend we have had many different talent agencies contact us wanting to have meetings with you guys. We didn't want to put any pressure on you to talk to them, so we just invited in Mr Adams here from the local radio station." The tall man stepped forward from between the two ladies and waved at us.
"Hey kids. We have lots of work to do!"
