After the day was over, me and Carrie drove home in silence as I was feeling really downhearted. She offered to take me with her to a study group at the library which I declined as I felt like staying in bed until I physically had to get out. As soon as we got to the house I went straight to my bedroom and climbed into bed. It was at this point I was missing Willie and the conversations we used to have. Despite being extremely mad at him, he was still the person I spent the last 10 years of my life with, and it was hard being away from him for so long.
"I'm going now River, feel free to eat whatever you want." I heard Carrie call up the stairs to me before the door slammed. I finally allowed myself to break down over the events of the day. It was much harder seeing everyone than I expected, especially when it was obvious that my new friends didn't like my old ones.
Under the sound of my sobbing, I heard a knock at my door. Forgetting about who it probably was, I swung the door open.
"Um, I heard you crying, and wanted to know if you was okay." Despite him being visibly older, in that moment Bobby looked like the same teenage boy from 25 years ago. His cluelessness made me laugh through my tears.
"Its been over 2 decades and you are still have no idea how to function around girls, huh?" I giggled. He shook his head and scratched the back of his neck.
"I wouldn't say that, I just don't know how to act around a girl who hasn't aged since she was a teenager." He replied pointedly. I walked over to my bed and sat on the end of it and pointed at my desk chair for him too sit down.
"I suppose I better try and explain everything."

After a brief explanation of everything that had happened, Bobby told me everything that happened to him after the boys died. I was quite annoyed to find out he gave no credit to the songs we wrote to us, but after thinking about it for a while, I didn't really care. Not like it would have affected me if he did. He told me about Carrie's mom, and how she left when she was still a baby. Despite the fact he is clearly a multi-millionaire, I felt bad for him. He clearly struggled after the boys died, and I could tell he was lonely.
"I'm glad we had this talk Bobby. Wait should I call you Bobby?" I questioned him. He smiled and shook his head.
"You better not. We don't want Carrie to start asking questions." He responded. I nodded my head and stood up.
"Well I guess you better leave. Might be a bit strange for Carrie if she comes home and finds her dad in her underaged friends bedroom." I giggled. His mouth dropped open in disbelief and walked to the door.
"River, you were literally older than me." He stood in the hallway and stared at me before walking away. "This is too weird."

After my talk with 'Trevor' I felt exceptionally better. I was filled with inspiration and decided to try and write a song for the talent show. Trevor had informed there that near Carrie's bedroom, there was a room filled with instruments so I decided to take a look inside. I was a very large room, painted white with shelves drilled into the walls, each holding a different room. The wall opposite the door was covered in different types of guitars but that wasn't what caught my eye. In the centre of the room, there was a shiny black grand piano. My mouth fell open because of how beautiful it was and I walked towards it. When I pushed open the instrument and sat down on the bench, I started to feel the familiar pulse of adrenaline and excitement that I used to get when I performed with the boys.
I pushed different keys and tried different melodies, trying to recreate the feelings in my head into a song. Once I had created the basic foundations of my song, I started to add some of my lyrics on top of it. There where times where I knew it would sound better with Alex playing the drums or Reggie having a bass solo, but I knew that there was no way they wouldn't perform with Luke and Julie. I noted down where I thought it would be effective and just moved past it. After what felt like hours, I finally had a finished piece so I decided to play it one more time to cement the notes into my head. When the song came to an end I head clapping from behind.
"River that was amazing." Carrie exclaimed and sat next to me on the bench. I smiled softly at her.
"I didn't hear you get back." I said whilst moving to the side so she could fit on the bench more comfortably.
"I heard you playing and didn't want to interrupt. Is that your piece for Friday?" She said, absentmindedly playing a few notes on the piano.
"Yeah, I was very inspired. What about you? I have no clue what you're doing." I replied. A smile broke onto her face.
"You really wanna know?" She asked, to which I vigorously nodded my head too. "It's quite different to the normal style that Dirty Candy normally goes for, but I think it really works with our choreography." She walked over to a stereo in the corner of a room and pushed play.

After she had showed me her song and some of the moves for the performance, we decided to go to bed as it was getting pretty late and we had school again the next day. As I climbed into bed, I decided to check my phone. I opened Snapchat and saw several messages, one particular one catching my eye.
@ BrodieTaylor
Hey River, I just wanted to check that you're okay
after everything that happened today.Yeah I'm okay. I still don't understand why you
got into a fight with Luke though?Yeah it wasn't cool of me. I don't know what
happened between you two but you both seem
quite hurt.I didn't know what to say to Brodie. I couldn't exactly tell him what happened between us all. In the end I just decided not to say anything else and looked through my other messages.

You guys are crazy. I didn't update for a few weeks and I have come back to nearly double the reads I had. I cannot thank you all enough.
I've been thinking about what song River could sing in the talent show and I think I have the perfect song, but if you guys have any suggestions, please feel free to message me or leave a comment. The same applies for the song Dirty Candy will be performing.
That's all for now,
