When me and Luke finally got back to the house, it was about 5pm and we had been out all day. My mood was so high as I hadn't spent this much time with anyone in a long while and it felt like nothing could pull me from my high spirits. As we walked down the drive towards the studio, we heard upbeat music coming from inside.

"Hey, hey how was your day? Mine was fine but I think about you all the time

Can't get you out of my brain..."

When we walked inside they stopped playing and Alex grinned at us. I saw Julie looking at our hands, which were still interlocked, so I dropped his quickly and walked towards them.

"Hey guys, what are you playing? It sounded really good." I flopped onto the couch hoping that they would carry on playing for me. Luke walked over to his guitar and slung the strap over his shoulder and started to strum random chords.

"Its just something I'm working on. I don't have a name yet but I like the sound of it so far." Julie replied, and passed me some sheet music. The tune looked really catchy and I could tell that I would like the finished result. I nodded my head.

"This is gonna be a hit, I can feel it now." I replied causing Julie to break into a smile.

"Thanks River." I passed the sheet music to Luke so he could have a look over it. Alex started to play a beat on his drums, seeming to get ready to go over the song again, when Luke told him to stop.

"Jules, what were you thinking for the pre-chorus?" He murmured, pointing to a spot on the sheet.

"I'm not really sure, I haven't thought that far ahead." Luke looked excited.

"I have an idea." He walked over to where I had left my guitar this morning, and started to play a complicated riff on it, which fit the style of the song beautifully.

"That sounds really cool, but how are you supposed to play two different types of guitar during a song?" Reggie said, with Julie nodding along.

"I've said it before Reggie and I'll say it again. It is so lucky you can play the bass." Luke grumbled.

"River can do it." Alex explained to Julie who was looking quite confused over Luke's words. She turned to face me.

"You can play?" She questioned with a surprised look on her face.

"Yeah, before Covington took me, I was one of the lead singers in Sunset Curve. Me and Luke wrote loads of songs together." I smiled at the different memories running through my head of creating music with my friends. Julie looked between Luke and me before inhaling.

"I think its a great idea, if you're up to it that is?" Julie questioned. She seemed a bit annoyed with me but I brushed it aside. It must be my imagination. I hopped up off the couch and grabbed my guitar from Luke.

"You bet I am."

After practicing the song for about an hour, me, Reggie and Alex walked to the main house to get food for everyone while Julie and Luke stayed behind to finish up the lyrics.

"So how was your date today?" Reggie giggled and nudged his shoulder against mine. I rolled my eyes and scoffed.

"It wasn't a date Reg, just two friends catching up." I replied, feeling my face heat up.

"Well if that was the case, how come we didn't come." Alex said, acting serious, though I knew he was only joking.

"How come you didn't ask?" I shot back, causing them both to laugh. Reggie wasn't paying attention to the world around him and ended up walking straight into the door, causing me and Alex to break into even more laughter, leaving us gasping for breath.
