After getting a peaceful night's sleep, I awoke to a rather obnoxious sound coming from my phone. I rubbed my eyes and poked at the screen until the noise finally stopped, when I heard a soft knock at my door. I climbed out of bed and opened it, which revealed a smiling Carrie holding two mugs of steaming coffee in her hands.

"You are a life saver!" I exclaimed while taking the cup off of her and sitting back on my bed.

"It's no problem. I thought you might just wanna chill for a bit before we get ready for school." She explained and I nodded my head in response.

"You were correct." I laughed. Since it was only 6.00am and we didn't have to set off until 8.15am, we stayed in my room for the next hour where we talked about a multitude of things.

"So let me get this straight. You and Luke wrote the song together, basically admitting your feelings for one another, and he just gave it to Julie?" Carrie said after I had finished explaining the drama which led to me walking out.

"Yes! I'm not being crazy am I, it's not okay?" I asked for clarification.

"Absolutely. If I were you, I wouldn't have been so polite when I walked out." She laughed before glancing at the clock. "Well, we better start getting ready if we don't want to be late." She sighed and took my now empty mug out of my hand.

"Well, I think I'm gonna get a shower then."

I ended up wearing a royal purple cami with a lilac lace at the top and light blue mom jeans. I straightened my hair and pushed it back with a light purple headband and applied eyeliner. As it looked quite dull outside, I decided to wear Brodie's sweater until we got to school as I didn't want to get chilly.

For the first time since the night before, I decided to check my phone to see what people were saying in the group chat. What I was not expecting was multiple messages from Alex, Reggie and Luke, all demanding to know who Brodie was. It was then that I realised I hadn't put the picture on my private story, but my main one, where everyone could see it. I decided to ignore the messages and check my other ones.

After finishing my conversation with Brodie, I walked down the stairs to meet Carrie at the front door.

"I love your outfit. Very Y2K." Carrie complemented me, though I wasn't really sure what she meant by it.

"Thanks." I chuckled whilst climbing into her car. She started the car up and pulled out of her drive, and we began the 10 minute journey to school.

"Are you nervous about seeing them?" She asked quietly. I sighed.

"Yes and no. I know that I haven't done anything wrong but at the same time, I feel bad."

"What do you mean?"

"Well, the boys and Julie have done so much for me. I feel like the minute I see them, I'm going to regret walking out." I tried to describe how I was feeling, but it was difficult to get into words. She pulled into the carpark outside the school and we climbed out the car. She walked around to my side and linked her arm through mine.
