-Hope's POV-

At Christmas, Dad had gotten me a vinyl player and some records to play. Most were Green Day, but he did give me other ones. Most of the records were bands that I enjoyed. For some of the records, I did question how he got them. Sadly he didn't tell me where he got them. "Hope, can you please put on the Yungblud album please?" Ashley asked. "Which one?" I asked looking at her. "21st Century Liability." She said. "Okay," I said getting up and walking to my record player. Ashley was laying on my floor coloring something out of an adult coloring book. I put the Nine Inch Nails album I had playing back into its sleeve. Then I put it into the case. I pulled out my Yungblud album and put it on. "I forget just how much we listen to Yungblud," I said. Ashley laughed. "It is an insane amount isn't it?" She asked. "Yeah. I'm surprised we even like him," I said. "It shouldn't be we coming from you. It should be I, miss Motionless In White fan. It confuses the fuck out of me that you can just switch your music as you do." She said. "Honestly it isn't that hard," I said. "I don't get how you can do it. I usually just listen to pop-punk, rock, or heavy metal," She said. "I like having a mixture. Classical can be calming sometimes," I said. "You are one weird person." She said while a smile grew across her face. "That I know. I'm surprised that you of all people don't know how weird I am," I said. She laughed. "That is a very good point. One that I can't really give an answer to," She said.

"So, when is Adrienne adopting you?" She asked as I flipped over the vinyl. "We haven't really talked about it, but they might be looking more into it," I said placing it back on the record player. "That makes sense." She said. I turned back towards her.  "I can't believe all of the records you got. I remember we used to love looking at them whenever we could." She said. "I know. It really is weird to think just how much everything has changed. We no longer have to worry about what will happen to us when we turn 18. Now we get a normal life and get the chance of college." I said. "Yeah. I can't wait for college." She said sarcastically. I shook my head at her. "College means we are getting old and it's time to go to the real world." She said. I nodded. "I get it. It's scary to think we have a few years before we end up in college." I said. "I may take a year off in between. I just want to get to know myself a bit more since this is really the only time we haven't had to worry about not being able to not go to college." She said. "It makes sense. If you want we could look into getting an apartment together for that year or something." I said. "No. If you go to college right away, go have the college experience. Don't do something for me. You do you, bro." She said. "I just don't want you to feel left out," I said. "I won't and if I can drive by then, I'll come to visit your ass." She said as there was a knock on the door. We both turned to it. "You can come in," I said. Adrienne popped her head in. "Are you two okay with pizza and wings for dinner?" She asked. We both nodded. "Are you two okay?" She asked. "We are good. We've been talking and listening to music this whole time," I said. She nodded and then shut the door. "Why did that feel weirder than it was?" Ashley asked rolling to lay on her back. "I have no idea, but I get where you are getting at," I said. "I don't think I've ever seen something as weird as that," She said sitting up. "It truly was more weird than normal," I said. "Thank fucking god I was not the only one who noticed that," She said.

About 30 minutes later, Adrienne - wait Mom, I need to start making sure I call her that - came back up to my room to get us down for dinner. "What do you think of going to the courthouse for your birthday and finalizing everything?" Dad asked me when Ashley and I had sat at the table. "That's actually pretty chill. How much have you guys gotten done?" I asked. "We've gotten a lot of the paper work started. On your birthday, we will be pretty set for you to be adopted by Adrienne." Dad said. I nodded. "That's cool," I said. "Are you ready to be Hope's mother?" Ashely asked Mom. "Yes. I've wanted this a lot since we've gotten closer to each other. At the beginning, I may not have wanted her, but now she's one of my own. I couldn't think of something better than her becoming my daughter even if it isn't by blood." Mom said. I just focused back in on the food. If I didn't eat and kept focusing in on the conversation, I'd flip my shit. There's also a good chance that I'd loose my appetite. It's so weird to think I'm going to have a full family. I know I've been living with them for a bit now, but now it'll be whole. I won't just be my father's daughter. Although that's all I truly will be by blood. Now I get to be able to have a mother as well. "You good?" Dad asked. "Yes." I said.

A little after dinner Ashley was picked up by Tre. It's still weird to think we came from living in a center to living with rockstars. I'm grateful for everything that has happened since my father found me. I wish I could thank him more than I do. But for now I'm going to go to sleep because I really don't think I can stay up much longer than I am.
