A/N Sorry that the last chapter was short, but I didn't know what else to put. Hopefully this chapter is longer.

I got ready to leave, but before I could leave my dad stopped me. "Don't do anything stupid." He said emphasizing the word stupid. "I won't dad. I don't think she would let me do anything stupid." I said. "You don't know that." He said. "Dad, I know her better than you." I said. He stood there, and then Adrienne walked up. "I still don't trust her." She said pointing at me. "I know, but we need to think she is going to do the right thing and not the bad." My dad said. "Okay. You should be happy your dad said yes." She said before walking away. Then we heard a knock on the door. "I got it." I said. I opened the door to see Brittany standing there smiling. "My dad is right there if you want to talk to him." I said pointing towards him. "I think I need to." She said walking in. Then she walked over to my dad. "Hope, you need to come over too." She said. I walked over to them, and then Adrienne walked over to us. "I see she wasn't lying about you." Adrienne said. "Why would she lie?" Brittany asked. "I don't know her yet." Adrienne said. "Then don't judge her." Brittany said. "Can you be nicer to my wife?" My dad asked. "I will when she is nicer to Hope." Brittany said causing me to laugh. "Then you can't take my daughter out." My dad said. "Brittany, come with me." I said pulling her arm. "Where are you taking me?" She asked. "Just come on." I said pulling her arm again.

Brittany and I walked to a park, and it was quite for a while. "How do you like them?" She asked. "So far they are okay." I said. "You do know I would have came back for you right?" She asked. "Yes. I really wish you did." I said. "I'm sorry Hope. My job got in the way, and I didn't think I could handle you." She said on the verge of tears. "It's okay. Isn't it the thought that counts?" I asked. "Yes it is, but I should have came for you." She said. "You didn't need to stay in there any longer than you did." She said. "At least I got to meet my real dad." I said. "You are right about that. " she said causing me to smile. "When am I wrong?" I asked. "You are always wrong." She said making us both laugh. "I miss the days when we could hang out, but know I have to worry about my job." She said. "Why do you have to worry about your job?" I asked. "Because if they saw that you, Ashley, and I knew each other I think I could get fired." She said. "Really?" I asked. "Yes." She said. "That is so stupid." I said. "I know, but there are always rules." She said. "That is why I hate rules." I said causing her to laugh. "How was the adoption center after I left?" She asked. "Well Ash and I got picked on a lot, and then one day we both lost it. So we had hit a few people, and ended up with blood all over us because they were fighting back with weapons. We only were using our bare hands while they had knifes and other objects." I said. "Man, that musthave hurt." She said. "It did, but they left with blood on them too." I said. "How have you been since you got adopted?" I asked. "As you can see I got a job, and work full time at a school. That's really about it." She said. "Did you go to college?" I asked. "Yes, but it was a smaller one." She said. "Do you think anyone is cute?" She asked. "Yes, but please don't tell anyone." I said. "I won't. Who is it?" She asked. "Blaze." I said. "He's such a nice kid." She said. "Don't do anything you wouldn't do in front of around him." She said. "I won't." I said. "You should probably be getting home." She said. "I know." I said.

Whrn I got home my dad was sitting on the front porch. "Where were you?" He asked. "I was hanging out with Brittany like I said I was going to." I said. "You're grounded, and if I find out from anyone that you leave this house without asking you won't be leaving until you are 30." He said. "Okay dad." I said before walking in side of the house. "I can't be you actually went out with her." Jakob said. "I did." I said. "Dad was so mad at you." He added. "I know. I got in trouble outside. I just want to go upstairs to sleep." I said. "How do we know you aren't going to try to sneak away again." He asked. "I won't run away. I just want to sleep." I said. "Yeah right." He said. "I'm not taking this from you." I said before heading up stairs.

When I got up stairs, I got ready to take a shower. When I got in the shower I heard my dad start to yell. "She could run away again!" He yelled. "She could be the one taking the shower!" I heard Adrienne yell. "That can't be her!" He yelled. "Just let her have some space! She never had a mom, and doing a horrible job." She said quitely. Then I heard someone start to cry. I got out of the shower, and found my dad i the kitchen. "Where is Adrienne?" I asked. "In our room." He said not looking up. "Okay." I said before walking back upstairs. When I got to their room I saw that Adrienne was sitting on their bed. "Hey." I said walking in. "Hi Hope." She said looking up. "Your not a bad mom. You are very protective of us." I said. "Hope, I treat you horrible though." She said. "I would too, but trust me you will get over it soon." I said hugging her. "Okay." She said hugging me. "I love you mom." I said. "I love you too." She said. Then I went to my room to go to sleep.
