The File?

-Hope's P.O.V-

I woke up before Ashley, so I went back down to the living room. There I saw Mom reading something. As I walked closer I saw that it was my folder from the center. "Is this the first time you've read this?" I asked. "Yes. Come sit down." She said patting the seat next to her. "Everything I've ever done is in that," I said. "Do you not want me to read it?" She asked. "You can, but it does get depressing," I said. "Why?" She asked. "Because I'm fucked up. Always have and always will be." I said. She just looked at the folder. "You aren't that fucked." She said. "We all love you for you there isn't a need to change. Don't ever change for someone. If they try to force you to change that's a bullshit move on that person." She said putting an arm around my shoulder. "That just shows how much of a fucked up person I am. It's just if you read this I wouldn't want to know about it. And I don't want to explain anything to you. There are many horrible times that I do not want to talk about." I said.  "I understand." She said. "You might, but it's different for me. It's part of the reason no one wanted me." I said as I stood up from the couch.

I walked outside and sat under a tree. I knew that Mom would eventually want to talk to me. For me though, I didn't. It wasn't something I want to do. It's nothing against Mom or anything. I just hate looking back at the times that I fucked up. They aren't my proudest moments. I laid down back down on the grass and pulled out my phone to play some music. I turned on Disguise by Motionless In White. When people read through my folder it shows my dark side, the side that I don't want people to know. I hate that she is reading it. This is usually when people decide I am not worth keeping and send me back. I know she won't send me back, but it could cause her to walk on egg shells around me. It would actually make everyone walk on egg shells around me, well expect for Ashley. She's the only one I know that won't treat me any differently, but that's because she's been there through it all.

I heard the door open, so I looked up and saw Ashley walking out. She walked over to me and sat down next to me. "How are you feeling?" She asked. "I'm fine." I said. She looked at me. She knows I'm not okay. "You know if you need to talk I'm there for you. I'll always be there." She said. "I know. I just don't know how to feel. Like I'm mad that she's reading it, but she's gonna have to read it since she's my mom. I'm also scared because I'm waiting for her to tell me to go pack and leave. I just have so many thoughts running through my mind, and I don't know what I want to think." I said. "I would be the same way. It's okay to not to know what to think, but you're just not used to this." She said. "I just don't want them to think I'm not good enough for them because of what is in that file." I said. "They would never do that. I won't allow them to send either of back. You are stuck with me. I'm gonna be there for you through it all." She said. We both laid back on the ground. "Why don't we go on a walk to find a spot we can call our own." I said. "That sounds like a good idea. Let's go." She said. "We'd have to tell my mom though before we left." I said. "Yeah or else there is something they would kill us about." She said. "True." I said.

We got up and went back into the house. We walked through the kitchen to the living room, where we thought Mom would have been. "Where'd she go? There is no way she's done with that file. I know about everything in that because I've always been there helping you with everything." She said. "She might have gone to her room." I said. "Why don't you look, and see if she's there while I go to your room and change." She said. "Okay." I said.

I went up to Mom's room and saw that the door was opened which they never left open. It was always shut no execption. We'd have to knock to even get in. I still knocked on the door, but heard no reply. I did walk into the room a little. It didn't even sound like anyone was in there. Then again I could be wrong. The file wasn't even downstairs or in her room. I walked back out to the hallway. I looked down at my outfit and figured that I couldn't go out in my pajamas. So I went back to my room to change.

"Was she there?" Ashley asked as soon as I got into the room. "No. I'm very confused. There is no way that she was finished with the file. It wasn't even in her room, so she must have taken it with her." I said. "That's weird, but my dad texted me saying that Billie had left them to go to Adrienne." She said. "She must have left so that I wouldn't hear her." I said. "Yeah. My dad knows that we want to go on a walk and he told me to tell you to text your parents so that they know we left. He doesn't want us to get into more trouble than we are in." She said. "Makes sense." I said starting to change into the outfit I picked out.

We went back downstairs, but before I left my room I grabbed a house key. I had texted both of my parents since I still think that they are on the phone with each other. "Ready to go?" Ashley asked. "Yep." I said popping the p. We both then walked out of the house.
