-Hope's P.O.V-
"Why do you want to leave when I leave?" Dad asked. "I just want to go with you." I said. "Well you have to deal with staying home. I don't want to loose you again." Dad said. "Please let me go." I pleaded. "No." He said. "If I go with you, you will know nothing will happen." I said. "I said no. If you can't take no then you will not be allowed to go to the concerts Adrienne was going to take you to." He said. "I get to go to some of your concerts? Are any of them out of state?" I asked. "I don't know anymore, and yes some were out of state. We decided that you should be able to see different states." He said. "I'll stay here." I said. "But one question, why not different countries?" I asked. "Anything could happen, and they could be different than the US." He said. "Good. If I hear anything from Adrienne saying you tried to run, you will be grounded." He added. "I promise I won't run." I said. "Good." He said. "I don't understand though, I'm old enough to defend myself. If someone were to try to take me I could always fight back." I said. "But if the person is stronger than you, it's not a fair fight and you'll loose." He said. "Dad, I've never got to travel before. I could learn a lot more traveling than staying in one place." I said. "I don't care. I want to make sure and know that you will be safe. I know here you're safe, but on tour anything could happen." He said. "No place is truly safe, there's always something bad about a place. I get that we are going to places we don't really know about, but that would help me learn." I said. "No. I lost you once, I will not let it happen again." He said. "But aren't I old enough?" I asked. "Yes, but you've never seen what tour can be like and right now you aren't in the best condition to travel a lot." He said. "So what? I could always come when I get better." I said. "No." He said. "Now get some sleep." He added getting up from the bed. "Good night. Love you." I said. "Good night. Love you too." He said. He turned off my lights, walked out of my room, and silently closed my door.
***********Next Morning**********
"Mom!" I yelled. All of a sudden you could hear people start to run to my room. "What?" Mom asked coming into my room. Dad stood there to and looked at me angrily. "Can you help me get ready for today?" I asked. "That's all you wanted?" Dad asked. "Yes." I said. "You did not need to yell." Dad said. "How else was I supposed to get her here?" I asked. "Text her or call her. You really did not need to yell." Dad said. "Sorry. I'll call her next time than." I said. "Good. I'll go down and start on breakfast." Dad said.
"I sometimes don't understand him." I said. Mom laughed a little bit, but then looked at me. "You know he's just making sure you're okay." Mom said. "Yeah. I know that. It's just that I'm not really used to someone caring about me." I said. "I understand. Just let him help and I'll try to make into my routine to come in here and help you get ready." Mom said. "I will." I said. "That's all I ask." Mom said. "Now let's get you some clothes." Mom added.
Finally we got an outfit picked out for me. Now all we had to do was get me into it. "How are we going to do this?" I asked. "Very carefully." She said. "We will do your upper half then work on the bottom half." She said. "Arms up." She said. I put my arms up and she pulled my shirt up. "I never thought I would have this happen to me while I was older." I said. "Trust me, it's just as weird to me as it is for you." She said. "I am glad you said you would help me, and not let dad help me. I would have been even more uncomfortable." I said. "You never have to worry about that. I may not be your mom, but I'll help you whenever you need the help." She said. "Thank you." I said. "Can you lift your bottom half up so I can pull your pants down?" Mom asked. I lifted my bottom half up and she pulled down my pants. Then she pulled the pants A.K.A shorts we picked out up, and then put one shoe on me. "I really hate this." I said. "It's your fault this happened. You did not need to climb that tree." She said. "I know. I'm really sorry." I said. "I'm glad it wasn't worse than this. I would rather have to help you change until you get better than have to bury you." She said. "If I were to die, I don't think dad would do anymore music." I said. "I believe he would stop too." She said. "At first when your father told me about you, I didn't want to believe it. I really despised you, I mean he was my husband and he kept you a secret. I didn't want to believe it and then he brought you home. I was slowly losing it. You reminded me a lot of your father and I wasn't having it. I didn't want to believe that my husband had a daughter with another woman, but then I slowly saw how you were nice and caring you were. I'm sorry for the way I treated you." She said. "Mom, I understand. I maybe a teenager, but if I was married to someone for a little more than two decades coming home saying that they had a kid with someone else I would be furious." I said.
When we got done, Mom had went to go get Dad so I could go downstairs. "Ready?" Dad asked walking in. "Yep." I said. He lifted me up and then started to carry me down the steps. "You know what would suck?" I asked. "What?" He questioned. "If you were to drop me." I said. "That would suck." He said. Half way down the stairs he decided it would be a funny joke to act like he was going to drop me. This caused me to grab his neck tighter and try to pull my body closer. At the same time he started to laugh hysterically. "Dad, not funny at all." I said. "May not be funny to you, but your reaction was pretty funny." He said. "I'm telling Mom." I said. "What if I don't take you to her?" He asked. "I think she'll come looking for us." I said. "And I'm quite hungry, so take me to the food, peasant." I added. "Yes my queen." He said. I laughed which made him laugh to.
When we got down the stairs, I saw my wheelchair waiting for me. "I really hate that I can't really push that like a normal person." I said. "It must suck, but this is what happens when you fall out of a tree." He said. "Yeah. To bad I didn't know that before. I wouldn't have climbed that stupid tree in the first place." I said. "Life is about making mistakes and learning from them." He said. "I know. I just wish I hadn't been so stupid to climb a tree." I said. He sat me into my wheelchair and started to push me into the kitchen. "Are you mad about last night?" He asked. "No I guess I really slept on it and could see why you don't want to go." I said. "I'm still a little disappointed." I said. "I can see why. I definitely wouldn't pass up an opportunity to travel the world." He said. "How about when you get healed we will have a family vacation over in Europe, somewhere you want to go." He said. "That seems like a deal." I said. I put my hand out for him to shake, and he looked at it. "Shake the hand." I said. Then he smiled at me and shook my hand. "Guess it's a deal now." He said. "Yep. It's totally a deal." I said.
