-Hope's P.O.V-

"I can't believe that she just straight up left us." I said. "You and I both know that if this was us she'd been pissed and we would have gotten a lot of shit from everyone." Ashley said. "I know. It just pisses me the fuck off. I'm gonna be pissed if Mom comes back and yells at us for going on a walk." I said. "She can't because you texted her and told her what we are doing. If she was there then we would have told her, but we couldn't because she up and left. It's honestly all on her, she didn't even tell us she was leaving." She said. "I know, but there's still a chance we get into so much shit." I said. "Dude, honestly you're gonna be in shit for what's in the file." She said. "I know." I said. "Tre read mine and honestly we talked about it. He knows what's in yours and some other shit that isn't. He just wanted to know if we learned our lessons from what we did." She said. "I hope that's all that they wanna know. I mean it's just stupid stuff." I said. "Well except for certain parts." I added. "It's a lot of information coming at them, but honestly she should have told us where she was going." She said.

We walked until we found an abandoned building. We just decided to sit on the curb outside of the building. "Why is shit always finding ways to annoy us?" I asked. "Because it's our personality to always be apart of the shit." She said. We both laughed at her comment. "This is nice, watching everything go by. I mean, it just shows how there are people are always busy doing something and how hectic this world can be." I said. "It really is. Watching people go on with their lives can be very calming sometimes." She said. We both just sat in silence for a while. I can't believe that this is happening. I don't get why she couldn't just talk to me. I mean it's my fucking folder, I know everything that is in it.

After like ten minutes, Ashley got a text saying that we should head back home because my parents were done talking to each other. So, we got up and started to head back home. "I bet that once we get back that she will want to talk with me." I said. "If you want me there I can be there if you want." She said. "I don't know. Maybe this one you should sit out. You know everything, but I think this time I need to be alone." I said. "It makes sense. Just know I'm there if you want to talk afterwards." She said. "I know." I said nodding my head.

When we got back home, Mom was sitting outside on the porch. "You ready?" Ashley asked stopping on the sidewalk. "Honestly, no. I don't think I would have ever been ready for this conversation. I never thought I would have to have this conversation." I said turning to look at her. She hugged me before we walked to the porch. "Would you like to talk?" I asked Mom as Ashley went into the house. "Why didn't you tell us any of the things in your file?" She asked. "I didn't think it was too important to talk about. What happened in that file is in the past." I said. "Those were important. Did you not trust telling us?" She asked. "Well, I just didn't really want to talk about it. Those things were apart of a past that I would rather forget." I said. "You could have told us." She said. "I know that. And in all honesty I won't regret not telling you about them. I'd rather forget about it as best I can." I said. "This was important to tell us though, and I guess we just have to get used to having other people who care about you." She said with a smile. "Is this all we were going to talk about?" I asked. "Yes, but I have more that I want to talk about." She said. "Well, that can wait." I said. "Because it's taken you this long to even read that file and you left without telling me or Ashley. And if that was either of us, you would have been pissed. Adults pull this bullshit all the time. Were their child can't do one thing and then you go and do the exact same thing." I said walking into the house. Ashley was in the kitchen but walked out when I walked in. "You look pissed." She said. I just walked over to her and hugged her. She didn't ask any questions, she just hugged me back. This is why I loved our friendship. These moments, when the actions spoke for our words. "Try to calm down. Maybe take a nap or something." She said. I nodded and laid down on my bed. "I'll go talk to your mother for a bit." She said. I nodded and then she left.

-Ashley's POV-

I walked down to the living room where Adrienne was. "Adrienne, we need to talk." I said. "If you're going to get mad at me also, just head back upstairs." She said. "Actually, I just want you to know that Hope would have eventually had told you. It's just that, it's hard for us. We both went so long without having anyone other than each other. And now suddenly we have all of these new people in our lives." I said. "Why are you so much more calm about this?" She asked. "Because I know Hope, and for Hope, it's harder for her to stay calm. She isn't and hasn't been the best at controlling her emotions. Hope and I have learned to deal with things together. I know more than that folder and she knows more than what is my folder." I said. Adrienne nodded her head and opened the folder. "Why didn't she tell us? These were important for us to know." She said. "Because she was scared. I didn't tell Tre what was in mine, and I know he read it. He was calm though. I think you leaving scared her more. We learned to just live off of each other." I said. "You really are a good friend." She said. "That's what happens when you live with someone for years." I said with a smile. She nodded her head. "I just wish she had come back to talk to us about everything." She said. "She would have slowly. Once she felt comfortable she would have opened up about everything, so now that you know everything don't try to rush her. She will shut down more than she ever did." I said. "I won't." She said. "Good because out of the two of us, she's better at running away without people knowing." I said before heading back up the stairs to Hope's room.

When I got to back to Hope's room, I saw her asleep on her bed. She had been crying and I felt bad. I know she would have opened up, but instead of talking to her Adrienne left. I know Hope is afraid of losing people since she's lost so many throughout her life. I just wish they had sat and talked it out better, but I know why Hope's mad. It makes sense. I then laid down on the bed next to Hope and closed my eyes. I just want everything to go better for the both of them.
