Elle's POV

My whole body is stiff by the time we arrived back at Wilburton. There was heavy traffic on the bus ride back, turning a four hour drive into about a six hour one. Our class was able to pull the party off successfully, despite the fact that a lot of people were visibly hung over. Thankfully I wasn't part of that crew. Watching your current man, and ex almost fight is pretty sobering. Aside from all that, I was actually in a very happy mood. Christian and I were on the way to his house.

"Can I tell you something?" I ask, massaging the top of his hand that rested on my thigh while the other was on the wheel. I imagine it will take me awhile to get used to the thrill of his affection.

"Always." He responds, smiling at me briefly before focusing on the road again.

"I have no idea what to get you for Christmas."

The holiday is less than a week away, and I wanted to get him something nice...especially since we're more than just friends now. I mean, let's not forget his thoughtful present of the music box.

"You don't have to get me anything."

"Of course I do!" I whine, as we pull into his driveway.

"Well then I'm sure you'll come up with something," He smiles and opens my car door. As we made our arrival, we took notice of a red Porsche parked in front of his house. This was oddly suspicious, but we proceed to enter his house anyway.

"The fuck?" Christian mutters under his breath, as we enter the living room that seems to be fully decorated.

Festive lights covered the windows, and a huge Christmas tree stood in the middle of marble the floor. I'm completely in awe of the elaborate decor.

"Back already?" Says an unfamiliar voice, startling us both. I turn around to find a tall middle aged man standing at the end of the living room. He had freshly cut black hair, and wore a simple white button down with jeans. I look over at Christian, who stared at the man with an icy grimace. It then dawned on me...

"Dad?" Says Christian in a confused tone, as the man approaches him with arms wide open.

That makes a lot of sense. I always thought Christian was his mom's twin, but he also has a lot of similarities to his father. They were both tall, with the same muscular stature...same defined jawline too.

"I missed you so much," His father beams, pulling his son in for an embrace.

I feel a little awkward standing in the midst of their unexpected reunion, but it was heartwarming nonetheless.

"I negotiated a deal, and the Toronto partners agreed to meet me in Manhattan. I was actually on my way out to prep. I've got a suite waiting in a hotel downtown."

Christian nods. He still looks a bit uncomfortable. I remember how upset he was when his dad was unable to show up for our dinner. I'm shocked he isn't more excited.

"Elena?"

I was now the center of attention, as Christian's dad brings himself towards me with a gasp. "You're so grown up, oh my goodness."

I laugh awkwardly and nod. "It's very nice to see you, Mr. Santos"

"The pleasure is all mine." He smiles, and I notice the similarity between his and Christians. "I'm really glad you two are still friends."

Christian and I exchange looks.

"Actually, we're kinda more than that." He says confidently, and pulls me into his arms. I'm immediately graced with feelings of ecstasy, while heat rushes to my face.
