Christian's POV

When Elle said her parents wouldn't care about me spending the night, she certainly did not lie. I actually don't even think they realized I was here. After our thunderstorm escapades, we spent the rest of the night in bed. Not a lot of sleeping occurred though. The night was filled with tight embraces, and long, vulnerable conversations. We shared all of our 3 a.m thoughts that we wouldn't dare to say in broad daylight...some freaky and some not. Overall, it was a well needed end to our very chaotic day.

I don't even remember falling asleep. All I can register at the moment is the sounds of birds chirping loudly, and the warmth of the sun shining down on my face. The sensation of brightness forces me to slowly blink my eyes open.

The first thing I do once I'm able to focus my eyes, is take note of the numbness in my left arm. I can hardly feel my fingertips, but when I look to the side of me, and find Elle fast asleep in my arms, any complaints that were on the horizon vanish.

Leaning upwards, I peer over her shoulder. She looks so peaceful while sleeping. I'm not a creep or anything, but I can't not stare a little. Her bottom lip is slightly curled, while her knees hug her chest. A small smile reaches my lips. She's so beautiful.

Carefully, I plant a small kiss on her shoulder, and then the back of her head. Waking up next to Elle never disappoints. I wish I could just fast forward to the day where waking up beside each other is an everyday thing. We'd have our own place. Elle would do all the dishes in exchange for me doing all of the laundry. We'd probably get into a couple arguments in the home decor section at Target because we just bought curtains last week, yet she insists on getting more. Of course we wouldn't need them, but we'd get them anyway because she's so damn relentless. And I probably wouldn't even care that much, because afterwards we'd get in the car and go back to the home we've created for ourselves. How could I have any complaints then?

Thinking about our future makes me happy. I almost forget that we have four painful years of college ahead of us. An experience where there's no  guarantee our relationship will survive.

"I can feel you staring at me, Christian." Elle mumbles, catching me by surprise. Her eyes are still shut, but she starts to move around the bed, stretching out her limbs.

"Good morning." I smile, watching her eyelids slowly start to open.

"Hey." She smiles back lazily, her voice laced with slumber.

"How'd you sleep?"

My hand runs through her messy hair, pulling it away from her face.

"I slept fantastic." I tell her. "What about you?"

"Same here," she stretches her arms out, before wrapping them around me.  "What time is it?"

I glance at the clock on her night table.

"Noon."

The tranquil look in her eyes disappears, and she quickly shoots up from the bed.

"Noon?" Elle gasps, and rushes towards the window, peering outside into the driveway.

I'm not surprised we slept in, considering I don't remember falling asleep to begin with. And I don't exactly see a problem with it either. Since midterms have finally come to an end, students were given a week off from school to recuperate. So it's not like we're late for anything.

"Oh, thank God." Elle sighs in relief, placing a hand over her heart. "The driveway is empty. Nobody's home. I have no idea where they went, but we have the house to ourselves."

"So will you come back to bed now?" I signal beside me, impatiently. If I'm going to start my day off correctly, I'm gonna need a couple more hours of un-disrupted quality time with Elle.
