"Thank you again, Eret for letting us stay for a few days," Sapnap said, everyone except Wilbur and Philza had come down for breakfast, even Drista had despite not being able to eat any human food.

"It's what family does Sapnap, we help each other," Eret said, it was only them in the large dining room with the occasional servant bringing in food, "I am curious, what brings you and your odd band of friends here?"

Sapnap glanced at Drista and Tubbo, Drista gave a slight nod while Tubbo just kept his gaze on his food, he didn't feel hungry. He felt empty though, like something had disappeared inside him.

"A prophecy," Sapnap said, "I had a feeling that me, Wilbur, Tubbo, Drista, and...Tommy were chosen for a prophecy."

"You always were destined for greatness Sapnap," Eret said, "I'm glad you listened to your instincts."

"But it cost us a good friend," Sapnap said, glancing over at Tubbo, "I wish there was something I could do to change that."

"He died because of me," Tubbo said, his fork dropping onto the plate with a clatter, "there's nothing we can do about it."

"It's not your fault Tubbo," Drista said softly, "none of us could have guessed this was going to happen."

"I could have," Tubbo said, standing up and walking away, "who else is as loyal and dedicated as Tommy?"

"Tubbo," Sapnap called as the boy stormed away, "was I like that when I was his age?"

"No," Eret chuckled, "you were much worse. Your father hated it. But you were the reason I helped Phil."

"You know Philza," Drista asked them, wanting any distraction to not be sulking like Tubbo.

"Yes, I caught him sneaking into the castle," Eret said solemnly, "he was looking for information on Wilbur when he was serving, letters, reports, he was desperate. His wings were still gray back then. I gave him the files and thought I would never see him again. Then a week later he came back with Wilbur, thanked me, and returned the papers. That's when I remembered Sapnap's beliefs and he was living proof that not all of our 'enemies' are bad."

"Told you," Sapnap elbowed Clay, "glad you finally came around."

"Well I have my reasons for seeing reason in all of your arguments for them," Clay said, he wasn't ready to tell Sapnap that it's because Drista is his sister.

"Well I have a report to write about the recent turn in events over here and send to King Hypixal, Drista I would suggest that you and Phil try to keep a low profile, the rest of you have free range of the palace. Although be careful in the mountains I have lost good men to the creatures hiding in them," Eret said as they stood up and walked out, dismissing the rest of them.

"Hey," Philza walked past Eret as he entered the hall, "Clay, can I talk to you for a second?"

"Oh, sure," Clay got up and followed Phil out to an empty room, "what's going on?"

"Can I trust you," Phil said, putting his hand on Clay's shoulder, "this is important to me."

"Of cour-" Clay started, but how could he be trusted when he hadn't told Phil the truth, "No sir, I haven't been honest with you."

This caught him off guard, "what?"

"Once I was a foolish 13 year old boy who never thought for himself, he was given an assignment," Clay paused and took a breath, "kill the family harboring a ghost. I'm the one who burned down your cabin."

"And you're no longer that person," Phil said, he would worry about this later, "you decided to help us despise the possible consequences you could be charged with treason by the king. If Tubbo and Wilbur decide to go back before I return I would be grateful if you were to accompany them."

"Where are you going," Clay asked.

"I got a letter from Technoblade, he's asked for me and me alone to come back to the manor," Phil said, the letter had also warned not to tell anyone and an ominous 'I will know' added, "I'm asking as a favor, and I will understand if you do otherwise."

"Understood," Clay nodded, "I'll keep it in mind. Good luck."

"I'm going to need it," Phil muttered, Techno could be difficult at times, and this might be one of them. He and Clay went their separate ways, Clay to find where Sapnap had gone, and Phil to find a balcony to fly off of.

Down in the archery range Sapnap was showing Tubbo how to work a bow. The teen let an arrow fly and it hit just two rings away from the bullseye.

"I did it," he cheered, looking over at Wilbur who had come down as well.

"You're a natural," Sapnap said, "I was around your age when I learned all of these weapons. I'm still not great at them though."

"I'm sure you're better than me," Wilbur said, "I believe I used a bow at one point, it's a fuzzy memory."

"Why don't you try," Tubbo handed over the bow to Wilbur.

"It is all instinctive, at least that's what I've been told by Clay," Sapnap said.

Wilbur took the bow, notched an arrow, and let it fly. It hit the middle with a tunk. Wilbur was just as stunned as the others, he didn't know he was that skilled.

"Good job," Sapnap said as Wilbur set the bow aside.

"Uh, thanks," Wilbur said absently, how had he done that, and why didn't he remember, "I'm going to check on Phil."

"I think Phil left already," Clay said as he came over to them.

"Why do you say that," Wilbur asked.

"He told me he was leaving, didn't say where," Clay said then looked over at the targets, "who hit the bullseye?"

"Will did," Tubbo said, "it was awesome!"

"Good to see someone's happy," Clay said as Wilbur walked away.

"I think I just needed the right thing," Tubbo said, cracking a small smile for the first time in hours.

~~~The night before~~~
Far away for someone the world was dark and two voices could be faintly heard.
"Can you fix him," One asked in a deep gruff voice, it sounded like he commanded attention.
"Yes, but there's a large chance he won't remember anything," the other one said, he sounded younger and more hesitant, it had never been done before, bringing someone back from the dead.
"Good, I need a blank slate to work with," it was sorrowful as if he didn't want to do it, "at least one person will listen to me. Send a message."
"Wha-what shall it say," the young warlock asked as he prepared the spell.
"Tell our forces that the Count is no more," He said, sitting on the throne, "with Lady Drista missing, his adviser and most loyal subject has taken the throne. And along with it the rightful title of king."
Gee I wonder what Technoblade could possibly be up to. This story is just getting started, this war isn't over yet. Thanks all for reading and please vote and comment.
