The ceasefire order from Niki and Tubbo hadn't reached the army in time and Sapnap's uncle offered to escort them to the battlefield, grateful for the help of any angels he could get.
"You mean he just called back all of your angel allies when he knew of the breach of security in the King's castle," Niki asked them.
"I'm afraid so," Lord Eret said, "my brother has never been fond of me, nor our father. And my nephew, is he really here?"
"Yes, sir, er, Lord Eret," Tubbo corrected himself, "sorry what title should I call you?"
"Lord is fine," Eret said, "as much as I would love to discuss titles and formalities with you two we have a battle to fight. And eventually a war to figure out."
"You don't want to win," Tubbo asked, looking up at them, "that's different from what I've been told."
"The only way to actually win is to find a solution that benefits both sides," Eret said, "I don't suppose the king has his sights set on winning."
"I know the Count does, but I don't understand how it would benefit him," Tubbo said, then realized what he had said, "please don't kill me."
"Tubbo," Niki comfortingly put her hand on his shoulder, "just because your best friend is a demon doesn't mean every royal official is going to try and kill you. But I understand where you're coming from."
"Amazing, you and this friend of yours defy all stereotypes," Eret said but was drawn back to the battle when they emerged from the tunnel leading directly to the valley, "well, you always have a safe haven here Tubbo, as long as you don't attack my guards that is. Good luck with whatever comes next, have Sapnap visit me will you?"
"He's talked about seeing you for months, thank you again Lord Eret," Niki said before taking off and flying off with Tubbo following behind. They flew above the battlefield, looking for the others. Then something strange happened, all the vampires started retreating, crossing over and leaving the remaining demons and fallen angels nearly defenseless. Now the humans outnumbered them 4 to 1. Seeing their disadvantage and back up retreating they all crossed over as well.
"What's going on," Niki flew over to Sapnap and Quackity as Tubbo made a beeline for Tommy.
"I don't know," Quackity said, they both looked exhausted but Sapnap was pale and shaking, "I don't get why they suddenly retreated. Are you alright man?"
"I think I will be, all that matters is that we won, right," Sapnap breathed heavily, leaning against Quackity for support.
"I just crossed over a bit ago," Phil said, appearing behind them, "the Count's forces are in chaos, but the vampires are nowhere to be seen."
"What happened," Drista asked, coming down to them with Dream, looking around at the exhausted soldiers, "where did they all go?"
"We don't know," Phil said.
"I can't believe it," Tubbo raised his arms in excitement, "we did it Tommy!" Tommy looked at his friend with a smile, it was so good to see him happy, but something was wrong.
"Tubbo!" Tommy screamed and the boy fell to the ground.
Knife pierced skin.
Blood seeped onto the ground. Black blood.
"Tommy!" Tubbo cried as Tommy had pushed him out of the way, he raced over to catch him, "Phil! Help!"
"Something's wrong with Tubbo," Drista said, her hearing focusing on him, "he needs Phil."
"Where is he," Phil said, picking up Drista and she directed him to Tubbo, he soon spotted them and raced over.
"Dad," Tommy groaned as Phil picked him up in his arms.
"Shh, It's going to be okay Tommy," Phil said and Drista sat down in front of them, shaking her head, she could hear his heartbeat fading.
"Tommy please," Tubbo sobbed, black blood covering his hands and clothes. Phil held back silent tears, he knew they wouldn't be able to get him to a healer in time.
"Dad," Tommy croaked, trying to hide his pain from Tubbo and Drista, "I'm tired."
"That's okay son," Phil said, his tears wetting his face, "Just go to sleep, everything will be fine in the morning. We'll be fine."
Phil wouldn't wish this pain on Tommy, even if it meant losing him. Drista let out a sob as Tommy's head rolled to the side and for a second, he was at peace. A black dust surrounded Tommy and his body disappeared from Phil's arms, leaving only the dagger that killed him.
"Where's Tommy," Clay asked, but then he saw the knife and pieced it together, "oh, I'm sorry."
"I swear on the heavens above if I found out who killed him," Tubbo growled.
"Dream," someone shouted from not to far away, he held a bow that was leveled at Philza, "help me take out the rest of these netherworld-"
In a flash and before anyone could stop him Tubbo had levitated the knife and thrown it at the assassin, now embedded in his forehead. He pressed his lips together, glaring as his body hit the ground. Tubbo looked away, wiping away silent tears.
"Oh," Drista said, starting to sob as it clicked in her mind, "he was meant to die this entire time. An oath to keep with dying breath. Tommy swore that he would protect you, no matter what."
Clay, seeing her distress wrapped his arms around her, letting her tears soak the black and green fabric. There was nothing he could do but comfort her. Niki and Quackity walked over with Sapnap's unconscious body on their shoulders, he had been completely drained and passed out. What happened next went by like a blur for Wilbur and Phil. They went back to the hidden castle where Eret took them in with open arms, still a little sceptical of Drista and Phil.
As Wilbur and Phil sat in the small guest room Eret had offered Wilbur looked over at Phil, "how are we supposed to tell Techno?"
"I guess we'll deal with that when it comes to it," Phil said.
Hahahahaha, I didn't kill Tubbo, but I did kill Tommy. The pieces were there the entire time, you just had to see them. Well hope you all enjoyed this please vote and comment.
Peace out YouTubers from around the world!
