In his study Sapnap gathered together any items he would need into a knapsack. He had pretended to fall asleep while writing up the letters and plans he was assigned, he needed to hurry in order to be long gone before Clay came back. The diligent bodyguard had left for a short period of time to check in with battle plans from the king, leaving Nihachu outside of the room.

"Hey Niki," He said peeking out of the room.

"Oh, you're awake," She said, "Clay left to go do some things with the king, so he left me to watch you."

"Well I'm sure if he had you keep watch then you're very capable," Sapnap said, "would you care to accompany me to the kitchen then, I'm famished."

"Of course," She was very surprised, Clay had warned her that Sapnap would try to run off and insist that he didn't need a bodyguard. Niki did however, notice the knapsack he held.

"I also need to stop by my room for a new quill," he lifted up the one he had snapped the tip off, "accidentally broke this one."

"Whatever you need, your highness," She said, readjusting her wings, something was off.

"So, how have you been," Sapnap asked, trying to strike up a conversation.

"Oh, um, good I guess," Niki said, "it was a pretty eventful day."

"Tell me about it," he muttered, "that's the second time I've gotten threatened this week."

"Do you really think that the angel was a traitor," She asked, "I mean the demon could have been manipulating him. I don't understand why the king could be so harsh to an angel."

"I think the angel believes that what he's doing is right, just like us. Those two are actually good friends, I ran into them yesterday."

"I guess that does make sense. Demons still have human emotions like me. I had never thought about it that way."

"Neither have I," Sapnap admitted, he glanced around and saw a familiar wizard in training's face, "Quackity!"

"Oh hey Sapnap," he turned around and started walking with them, "anything you need from your future royal wizard?"

"You do know that's not an official position," Niki pointed out.

"It will be when my buddy Sapnap here is king," Quackity put his arm around his shoulders, despite being years younger he was just as tall as him.

"Oh please, George could do more magic than you," Sapnap joked.

Quackity faked a gasp, "Blasphemy! My talents have improved since we last talked my friend."

"Alright then, show us after I get a new quill and some pastries from the kitchens," Sapnap challenged.

"Oh you shall see magic good friend," Quackity said, finally catching onto what Sapnap wanted him to do, "and you will be amazed."

"Can't wait," Sapnap said as they arrived at his room. He went in, leaving Quackity and Niki at the door. He grabbed the pouch of coins, a few daggers for defense, and a quill to keep his cover. "Alright I'm good, let's get some food."

"What's with the bag," Niki asked, folding her arms.

"To put food in, extra snacks you know," Sapnap said, it wasn't a complete lie.

"Okay," Niki said, "let's just go."

They walked through the castle, passing by the execution field, and eventually made it to the kitchen. Sapnap grabbed a few jelly cakes and stuffed some fruits into his bag as they left he turned and nodded to Quackity. The wizard smirked, brought out his wand and a cloud of smoke suddenly appeared.

"Run," Sapnap told him, grabbing Quackity's arm and taking off away from the crowd.

"I didn't think you'd have it in you to ditch your bodyguard, Niki is super nice, but also scary," Quackity said as he ran by him.

"She's not the bodyguard I wanted to get away from," Sapnap huffed, glancing back to see Clay running into people and trying to get to them.

"Holy angels, that man is scary," Quackity said, his voice starting to go high pitched.

"Yeah, I need to get to the forest." Sapnap said.

"Well then we should get out of here fast, I know a shortcut," Quackity ran off one direction and Sapnap followed. It was a part of the castle he hadn't been to before, which was surprising seen as he had lived there for 24 years. "Welcome to my part of the castle."

"Why have I never been here before," Sapnap said, "Aren't you guys an important part of the war?"

"Yeah, but most of the magic capable humans are usually found by the vampirics before the age of five, so there aren't many wizards. I only survived because my entire lineage lived in this castle." Quackity explained, wanting to change to a different topic, "So, uh, what are you up to? You seem to be preparing for a trip."

"Something like that," Sapnap said, he checked his bag to see what else he might need, "are there any healing herbs I should take with me? I might need them."

"Here," Quackity took some cloth bandages and a bottle of ointment and put them in the knapsack, "these are the only things I can give you in order not to be noticed missing."

"Thanks man, I really appreciate it," An idea came to his mind, "do you have anyway to teleport me to someone?"

"Um, yeah, there is something," Quackity disappeared into another room and came out holding a normal acorn, "this should teleport you anywhere, anyone."

"Should," Sapnap raised an eyebrow.

"It'll either work or it won't," Quackity said, "no risk. Just crush it in your hand and think about them. Good luck."

"Stall for me," Sapnap asked.

"You bet," Quackity laughed, "but if that crazy bodyguard of yours kills me it's on you."

"He won't kill you," Sapnap said, he picked up the knapsack and closed his hand around the acorn, feeling it crumb in his hand. A black dust surrounded him and he was teleported away.

"I can't believe it," Quackity laughed, putting his hands on his head, "that actually worked. Aaaand now you're talking to yourself again, Big Q."

"Where's the prince," Clay demanded as he burst in the door, he stopped for a second trying to catch his breath.

"Hell if I know," Quackity nervously chuckled, his voice starting to go up again, "I'm sure you just missed him man."

"I'm keeping an eye on you wizard," Clay said then left as Quackity held a smile and waved to him. Quackity let out a sigh as the door closed, but soon the door opened again and he freaked out as Niki came in.

"I didn't do anything," He yelped.

"Yes, you did," Niki stared him down, "I can tell you're lying."

"What, no you can't," Quackity turned to the shelf and started moving around the ingredient bottles.

"That's my ability," Niki said, folding her arms, "I'm a walking lie detector. Now where did Sapnap go?"

"I have no idea," He admitted, "he could literally be anywhere."
