Technoblade backed up as Tommy and Tubbo led the way with Drista, pulling Sapnap with him. The guards let them leave, making no move to attack. Tubbo's wings ached, feeling like a weight had been added to his shoulders. Tommy's good eye darted around, worried that at any moment a guard might try and attack them.
"You know I'll just walk with you," Sapnap said when they got out of earshot of the guards, mainly trying to be free of the blade that kept pressing into his neck, "you are very scary."
"Not a chance," Techno growled, and Sapnap saw that there was no reasoning with the vampire.
"Let him go Technoblade," Drista commanded as they reached the courtyard, reluctantly he did.
"See, not running," Sapnap said and he reached into the pouch that was by his side, "I want you to take this." He held a scroll out to Drista, "I don't think my father has read it yet. It's safer if he doesn't anyway."
"What's on it," Drista asked, taking the scroll from him and tucking it behind her cloak.
"I think it's a prophecy, possibly to stop the war," He explained, "But for all I know it could happen centuries from now. I would like to know if you figure it out. It could change everything though."
"Okay," Drista said, it wasn't confirmation or denial that she would, but Techno seemed to have a different idea.
"Don't expect to," he said, folding his arms. Techno then pulled the hood of his cloak over his head and crossed the courtyard.
"Thank you," Tommy said to Drista, "I didn't expect you to come back."
"Well I'm a lot different from the Count, plus you guys are like my first friends," She admitted.
"I guess now would be a good time to ask how we're going to cross over," Tubbo said, craning his neck around to see his mangled wing, "I can't go very fast on the ground and Tommy, you're in no shape to do it yourself." Tommy opened his mouth to protest but he knew that Tubbo was right, he probably broke some of his ribs as well as the huge burn on his face. He noticed that Drista had her hand wrapped in damp black fabric, what he didn't know is that it had nearly been burned off when Clay attacked her.
"We'll cross over and get Phil and Wilbur then," Techno said, "You two stay in the forest and don't wander."
"As if there is anywhere we can go," Tommy rolled his eyes. Tubbo didn't laugh like usual when he said that, he knew Tommy was trying to lighten the mood but he didn't see this at a time for jokes. He was still trying to process the fact that he could move things with his mind.
I wish you couldn't. Tubbo heard Tommy think, he must have accidentally transmitted his thoughts.
"Tommy," Tubbo said in alarm, "why? I saved you!"
"I don't know what you're talking about," Tommy said, turning away from him and chiding himself.
"I heard your thoughts," Tubbo said, "You accidentally told me-" he stopped short not wanting to repeat them.
"Well then maybe you should ignore it, that's not what I think, it's great that you have an ability," Tommy snapped, trying to recover from the slip up.
"Okay," Tubbo sat down on a fallen tree and kicked the dirt at his feet. They sat in silence, until a loud pop was heard above them and Philza and Wilbur flew down.
"Tommy, oh demons what happened to you two," Phil came running over and pulled Tommy in a hug, relieved that he was alive. He let go when Tommy winced for his ribs were definitely bruised or broken.
"Why didn't I listen to you," Tommy's voice broke, tears silently streaming down his face, only making the burn hurt even more, "if I had stayed we wouldn't be here. Tubbo would have been fine."
"Oh Tommy, it's not your fault," Phil cupped Tommy's face and used his thumbs to wipe off the tears, "you were ordered to and there was nothing we could do to change that."
"How bad is it," Tommy asked, talking about the burn, the question had been on his mind but he didn't want to ask Tubbo.
"It's going to leave a scar," Phil said, hugging him again, "let's get you two home. Will, can you carry Tubbo?"
"Sure," Wilbur responded, making his arms solid and lifting Tubbo in the air and disappearing with a loud pop. Phil lifted up Tommy and they crossed over as well. Down below was an exact replica of the cabin they had lived in as humans, Tommy looked away from it and over at the trees that surrounded it and the manor that seemed to be so far away. He never liked coming to it, too many bad memories now surrounded the place that used to be a safe haven for him.
"Woah," Tubbo said, it wasn't as big as the manor but it was nicer than the cabins most mortals lived in. With two bedrooms, a living area, a dining area, and attic it was better than the cabin Tubbo had lived in as a human. Tommy remembered the ladder he climbed every night to get to his bed in the attic, it was a quiet space where he would stay up late drawing with pieces of charcoal. During the colder months he would fall asleep on the hand crafted couch or with Philza in his room. The twins, Wilbur and Techno, would sleep in the bedroom next to him.
"Is this where you guys live," Tubbo asked as Wilbur and Phil put them down, "It's awesome."
"Yeah, although Tommy and Techno don't come by often," Philza said.
"More like never," Wilbur muttered.
"You're always welcome to come by Tubbo," Phil said, "You too Tommy, Techno will come around eventually. Even if it takes eternity. Now let's get you two healed." Inside were Drista and a warlock. Half of his face was white and the other half black, his eyes were mismatched, one being red the other green.
"You two must be Tubbo and Tommy," He held his hand out for a handshake, they both obliged, "I'm Ranboo."
"What happened to you," Tommy asked.
"A little accident that happened while making those potions, sadly the one I tested was a little permanent," He chuckled, not bothered by the bluntness of the question. Ranboo removed several elixirs from his bag, "Lady Drista told me what had happened and took me here."
"More potions," Tubbo groaned, his stomach didn't agree with the appearance altering one.
"Don't worry these are healing elixirs, alot better than the ones we gave you yesterday. The white one will fix your wings, but I have to relocate the bone first, the yellow one will dull any pain you two are having, the green one is for Tommy's burn, and this gray one will heal any other minor injuries." Ranboo said, pulling out each one and pointing to them, "don't mix them up or take the wrong one or else you'll get some unwelcome side effects. I have to go before the others get impatient."
"Thank you, Ranboo, we appreciate it," Drista said as he left the cabin, she then pulled the scroll Sapnap had given her out from the folds of her cloak, "you guys need to see this."
"What's on it," Tommy asked, "I can't remember what Sapnap had told us, my memory's a little fuzzy."
"A prophecy," She then read it out loud.
