Tommy came out to the hill the manor sat on, just at the bottom in the forest was Philza's cabin. He looked up at the moon, it was nearly at the top of the sky. He had sent a crow with a letter to the cabin giving them one day to meet him and barter for Drista's release. Of course there wasn't going to be a release, she needed to pay. The only memory he had connected to Drista was the fact her brother had been the reason he died. He stood in the grass with the staff in front of him, closed his eyes, and reached out with his mind.

"This isn't you Tommy," Drista said as a demon held her back, rope wound around her wrists, "even in the short time I've known you I know this isn't who you are."

"That's the thing, I'm not the Tommy you knew," Tommy said, not even looking at her, "he died, at the Northern Palace. Save yourself some trouble and stop thinking I'm him."

"Stubborn as always, whether you want to or not, you're still Tommy," Drista said, she knew it was hopeless but she had to keep him talking, "deep down you still care. About Phil, about Techno, about Wilbur, and even Tubbo."

"You're wasting your breath," Tommy said, did she really expect him to tell her everything, "hello Clay." Now that he knew he was discovered, Clay didn't hesitate to jump down from the roof, kill the demon, and tell Drista to run.

"Clay!" Drista screamed as his eyes went wide and started blindly swinging his dagger in the direction of Tommy, he easily dodged his swings and knocked him to the ground.

"Tommy stop," Tubbo yelled as flew down to him, "This isn't you! You're my best-"

"Friend?" Tommy snapped, walking away from Clay as he tried to get up, "Why would I be friends with an angel? The very creatures that I'm fighting against." Tears welled in Tubbo's eyes, he was different from the Tommy he knew.

"Tommy, where's Technoblade," Wilbur demanded as he floated down behind Tubbo.

"I don't know, where's Phil and Ranboo," Tommy chuckled as he entered their minds and searched for the information he wanted.

"At the cabin," Wilbur said, Ranboo had been careful to not reveal whether or not they were planning anything, so as far as Wilbur and the others knew that was the truth. "Where is my brother?"

Tommy smiled and his eyes gleamed. He threw the bag he had at his side to Wilbur's feet, strands of pink slipping out. Hesitantly he picked up the bottom of the bag and a head with pink hair rolled out. It was Technoblade's head.

"No," Wilbur said, nearly throwing up as he started to see himself instead, "Why?"

"He's your brother!" Drista yelled at him, "How could you?!" No wonder she hadn't seen Techno since yesterday.

"He served his purpose," Tommy glared at them, whatever he had been through during the past week had seriously affected his brain.

"Thomas," Wilbur said softly.

"Don't 'Thomas' me, Wilbur," Tommy snapped, "this war has carried on too long, I will be the one to bring our victory!"

"You're just going to cause more bloodshed, hundreds are going to die because of you," Drista yelled, tears streaming down her face.

"Fine then, seen as you have all chosen your side, you have made a grave mistake," Tommy said, pulling buried memories in each of their minds to the surface, "as you have no idea what I can do."

Sapnap came up to them in time to see them all cowering in fear from each other. Tubbo started clawing at his neck as the king's execution field flashed through his mind, he couldn't breathe, it felt like he was being hung all over again. Clay was a young boy again, a snowy landscape flashed in front of him, it was the night Drista had been taken all over again. Wilbur took his sword and swung wildly at the air as if fighting an invisible enemy. He fell to the ground after tripping over a tree root and scrambled back.

"Why aren't we affected?" Sapnap asked, looking over at Drista.

"He's bringing up their worst memories," Drista realized, she had felt all her pain and sadness that came from Tommy's betrayal get amplified tenfold.

"But that doesn't explain us," With everything going on Sapnap was surprised that he was able to think clearly, wasn't Tommy able to read minds?

"I'm not affected," Drista said, looking over at Tommy with a pained look and her voice broke, "because I'm living it."

"We have to try and snap them out of it," Sapnap slowly walked over to Clay and tried to talk to him as he held a defensive position with his dagger in hand.

"Clay," Sapnap said, "whatever you're seeing, it's already happened, it's over."

"Drista," Clay demanded, "where is she?" His eyes were still wide and his stance was loose.

"I'm right here Clay," Drista said and he froze as if starting to come out of the memory, "try and get to Wilbur."

"Okay," Sapnap nodded and started towards Wilbur and Tubbo, but Tommy blocked him with his sword.

"I can't let you do that," Tommy said, and Sapnap swiftly drew his sword and attacked him. He didn't have intentions to hurt Tommy, he just needed to get by. Then in a flash of gray and black Tommy was knocked away and Phil held him back, Phil then uncorked a vial under Tommy's nose and the boy went limp. Tubbo gasped for air and his vision was coming back, Wilbur threw aside his sword, and Clay looked at Drista as he dropped his dagger and hugged her.

"Phil," Tubbo said looking up at him, his voice hoarse. "What did you do to Tommy?"

"Ranboo and I made a knock out elixir with some very strong fumes that would render Tommy unconscious," Phil explained, picking up Tommy in his arms. "I was also able to reason with the council to hear you out, Drista. Ranboo's inside with Techno."

"But Techno's dead," Wilbur looked to where Techno's head had been. It was gone. Just another illusion.

Tommy really did know how to hurt each of them.

The worst enemy to have is your best friend. And I took that to heart during this story. I think only a few more chapters before the story is over. Man, thank you everyone who had made it this far. As always please vote and comment.
