Oop so this chapter was really hard to write because I know absolutely nothing about science so I had to do some research hehe.
Also violence warning btw.
————————-
This was no ordinary science building, that was for fucking certain.
This looked like a military grade chemistry building, not something that would be present on a college campus.
There were three floors, the highest biohazards were stored on the top floor and the least hazardous chemicals were stored at ground level.
The ground level looked more normal, like a place where students who weren't part of a lethal organization would take their science classes. And then it just got more extreme as we went up, the third floor being the home base for the young terrorists that attended the college.
We had walked in at ground level on the lowest floor of the building and it still looked like something out of a movie.
Hard glass dividers separated testing areas and all of the tabletops and walls were bright white or metal.
Clear moonlight streamed through the few small windows in the building and Louis and I pulled out our phone flashlights to aide us in our search, not wanting to turn on any lights and draw suspicion. We had already scanned our fake key cards to get us in here. If they checked the building attendance records, they would be able to discover that we were in the building. They wouldn't have to dig much further to figure out that we weren't actually students here, considering neither of us actually had any classes.
We needed to move fast.
And since the worst concoctions were on the third floor, we headed straight there.
There was a large bright metal staircase leading up to the upper floors and it only took a quick glance of eye contact with Louis to know we were both thinking the same thing.
We rushed towards the staircase, climbing it as quickly and quietly as we could, passing the second floor doors and continuing up until we reached a set of glass double doors, the entrance to an airlock chamber with the sign Hazmat Suits Required in bright yellow lettering on the glass.
"We'd better actually put those things on if we don't want to die." Louis pointed out as we entered the air lock and started the process of zipping ourselves into the ridiculous suits.
I kept my gun in my one hand, keeping it outside the suit so I could access it easily if I needed it. Both Louis and I had silencers on so no one outside the building or even on another floor would be able to hear the gunshots.
I felt like some sort of strange plastic snowman when we left the airlock chamber, I was doing my best to waddle around as quietly as I could in the plastic suit and look for the powder.
"It'll likely be inside a case with little test tubes like the virilium was." Louis whispered across the room to me from where he was digging around in a cabinet.
I opened a cabinet underneath one of the countertops, searching it as quickly as I could.
I thought it would be most likely that they would put it somewhere secret and safe, not leave it out in a cabinet which is where we were looking right now.
On that hunch, I looked up to notice a shiny metal door on the far side of the room.
"Lou!" I whispered to get his attention, racing over to the door as quickly as I could in the ridiculous suit.
There was a silver keypad next to the door that opened it. The four and three were faded like they had been pressed lots over time.
Problem being, I didn't know what would happen if I tried to guess the combination and got it wrong. Would nothing happen and I could just guess again, or would it set off an alarm?
