I wrote the second half of this chapter while listening to KMM so it gives me extreme kill my mind vibes now....

I was drowsy and beyond jet lagged by the time Louis and I arrived at the hotel.

It was a big white building with at least twenty stories. The lobby was decorated with a massive crystal chandelier hanging down and white marble tiled floors. There were several hallways leading off to rooms as well as a large elevator in the back of the lobby. It was a nicer hotel than I had ever been in in my life and I felt like a fish out of water the moment we walked in the doors. I was dressed so that I fit in, but all of the rich couples and families walking around us were used to this lifestyle, whereas I was trying to keep my jaw from falling to the floor.

Louis took my bag for me again so that I just walked by his side up to the front desk. It was shocking to me how often he was such a gentleman for someone who literally ran one of the most powerful gangs in the world. I stood behind him, texting Andrea while he checked in. I didn't want to offend the receptionist or say something wrong with my lack of propriety so I just let him handle it and ignored the conversation.

Eventually he pulled away, holding two key cards and nodding for me to follow him. I clicked the power button on my phone and trailed after him towards the lavish elevators.

As soon as we were inside and the doors shut, he looked at me sheepishly, "we're supposed to be married so I only got one room, it's a big room though, so I can sleep on the couch; it folds out into a bed."

I wasn't surprised, we were here to deal with the Russian mob after all, I knew we were going to have to keep up appearances. I was going to feel bad though if he had to sleep on the couch while I got some nice bed while he was the one paying for all of this.

"That's okay, you paid for the room so you can have the bed. I'll sleep on the couch."

He looked to me, "are you sure?"

"Mhm," I gave him a small smile in reassurance.

We were on the fifth floor so the ride was short, the doors opening with a ding and we walked out as Hugo and Violet Mason, burying Kestrel and Louis away until we got to the room.

Louis led the way down a grand hallway, still carrying my bag on top of his rolling suitcase, which I was starting to feel bad about.

He stopped as soon as he found our room and scanned the key card to let us inside.

My jaw dropped as soon as I walked in. The room was beautiful, I felt like I shouldn't be allowed inside for fear that I would dirty the floors. The walls were white and yellow and the floors were a white marble. There was a small living room with an attached kitchenette that led into a large bedroom and bathroom.

"Louis! How much did this place cost?!" The realization of the sheer amount of money he had was slapping me in the face at the moment. I mean I knew he had money, but it never ceased to shock me just how much.

Louis just shrugged, awkwardly holding my bag out for me to take.

"I'm going to go get takeout for dinner if you want to have a shower or anything." He said, standing his case up against the wall and pulling his phone out to check it.

I nodded and headed towards the bathroom with my bag. The awkwardness after what I had said on the plane was beginning to set in. I liked that we had been able to have an honest and easy conversation but I felt bad after admitting I had to think of him as two people.

I startled as soon as I looked in the bathroom mirror. I had forgotten I was wearing brown contacts, the eyes staring back at me were homely and much less intense than my natural bright violet. I wondered if it was Harry or Louis who had come up with my name on the fake ID, the fact that my name was Violet was ironic considering my eye color.
