The elevator dinged, signalling that we had made it to the fiftieth floor, and he pulled back. The tension between us lessened, but it was still palpable."See you later love," he smirked and left without another word.
I followed him out of the elevator, taking my duffle bag with me and heading down the hallway. I passed him as he shut his door behind him, and stuck the key in the lock to my own room, and pushed open the door.
I gasped as I took in the view. I don't know what I had been expecting but it certainly wasn't this. Both the club and Louis's apartment were styled in black and green so I guess I expected that was what all the rooms in this complex looked like.
The room was beautiful, with floor to ceiling windows, done in white and bright red. The tiles and counter tops were white and the curtains were red. The layout was the same as Louis's apartment, though it was clear that his furnishings were more expensive. I almost felt too dirty to be here. I carried my duffle bag all the way to my bedroom, and tossed it on the bed. I stood in my room, unsure of what to do. I didn't know what to do in the luxurious place so I just flopped back on the bed, staring at the ceiling. I didn't know what I needed to wear for tonight since Louis had not given me any information about where we were going.
I was still coming to terms with the fact that he wasn't the villain anymore. I had been so used to hating him, or at least the idea of him for the last few days, that I hardly had time to come to terms with the fact that I didn't have to hate him anymore. He had manipulated me, but he had also allowed me to complete my mission...albeit if it was on his terms, but the tension between us was so electric I found that I didn't really want to hate him. If anything, I admired how cunning he was. I would have to watch myself around him in the future, but it didn't really seem like he had any majorly ill intentions for me. We were partners now.
I lie on my bed for at least another hour before I decided to get up and put my things away in the white dresser. I didn't have a safe place to put any of my guns or cash so I settled for leaving them in the duffle bag and tucking it under the bed like I had done at the hotel.
It was another hour of lying in bed before I heard a knock at the door. I slipped a handgun into the waistband of my pants and my phone in my back pocketbefore opening the door. Louis was wearing the same outfit he had been earlier and his hair was styled the same. A lit cigarette dangled between his lips.
"Evening love." He greeted me.
"Mr. Tomlinson," I responded with a smirk.
I tried not to stare at his sculpted chest as he held the door open for me, "where are we headed?" I asked him as we headed towards the elevator.
"My headquarters." He responded with a sinister smile, thinking I had no idea what he was talking about.
I didn't know why, but I felt like getting back at him a bit for the fact that he had been calling all the shots so far, and this was the one leg up I had that he didn't know about.
"Okay cool. You're a great fighter by the way." I said with a wink and a smile, acting like I should have a damn halo on my head.
The expression of shock that took over his face for a mere half second made my pettiness worthwhile.
He raised an eyebrow at me, trying to get information, now that I had baited him. "And how would you know that?"
I dodged his question, "I get around."
He frowned, clearly annoyed that he didn't know what I knew.
I was expecting him to take me by car, but instead he led us to a taxi. He opened the door for me again, which I appreciated. For all of his killer instincts, he still seemed to be a gentleman and it surprised me. We said nothing during the car ride, but he took me to a different entrance to his underground world this time, through a grated entrance at the side of a building I didn't recognize and down into the giant sewer tunnels I had traversed my first time here.
The cavern of his headquarters was just as big as I remembered, except this time, I followed him right into the masses of people. The men here didn't know me like they did back in my gang. Louis was the only one who knew my reputation so I recieved plenty of catcalls and whistles as I followed Louis. I knew if I didn't put them in their places soon, it would only get worse.
I grabbed Louis's shoulder, pulling him to face me. "Can you get me a fight?" I asked him.
"What?"
"A fight." I snapped, "against someone they respect."
He knew what I was trying to do and he nodded, "against Jordy."
"JORDY." He shouted over the masses of people.
Everyone quieted as soon as his thunderous voice boomed through the cavern, and a tall muscled man stepped forward.
"First fight of the night. Jordy versus, miss Kestrel." Louis said with a smile, and stepped back.
I shrunk down, doing my best to appear small. I wanted him to underestimate me.
Jordy was blonde and tattooed and looked to be about 350 lbs. He also looked like an asshole.
"I'm supposed to fight this bitch?" He said, clearly offended that I was even allowed to be matched with him.
I ignored him and slipped off my leather jacket, tossing it to the floor.
"Take it off baby!" Someone shouted.
I slipped into my fighting stance.
"FIGHT" Louis shouted in his thick accent.
