So I know we're lacking some action right now, but all of their conversations and sweet moments are all important to the plot. I'll get you some action soon don't worry.
We boarded the plane to Orlando at five in the morning. Our pilot this time was a middle aged man who looked incredibly bored and more interested in his cigarette than us when we walked up the stairway onto the plane.
I had fallen asleep late the previous night after I had taken so long packing, and I was incredibly tired, but Louis didn't like flying so falling asleep the moment we got onto the plane would have certainly been the easier option but I didn't want to leave my boyfriend to deal with his fear alone.
My boyfriend.
It still felt strange to think of him with that title.
Louis was bouncing his leg at the speed of a jackhammer as soon as we were getting ready to takeoff, and although I could sense the nerves rolling off of him in waves, it didn't seem nearly as bad as the first flight we had taken together, so I guessed public flights were tougher for him than private ones.
I placed my hand on his leg to still him, curling up against his chest suddenly and kissing his cheek.
There was no door separating us from the cockpit on this plane and he looked to me, surprised since I had never been affectionate with him in front of other people.
"Are you okay?" I whispered into his ear, and kissed his neck.
"I'm better than I usually am," he said lowly, "being with you and no around strangers helps."
He wrapped his arms around me, letting me hold him.
"By the way, I never got to properly thank you for saving me when the pipe bomb went off in New York, you were brave and you didn't have to save me, but you did." He said softly, speaking into my ear so the pilot couldn't hear us.
I was shocked that he thought there was any way I wouldn't save him.
Sure, we weren't dating and I didn't know all that much about him at the time, other than the chemistry we had between us, but that didn't mean that I would just leave him.
He was too special for that, whether he knew it or not.
He had been special to me long before that conversation in the pool and it made me sad that he didn't know that.
"Lou, I would never just leave you."
"But I still had been keeping things from you at that point, and you saved me anyway."
He sounded honestly surprised by my actions and that broke my heart.
"Just because I didn't know everything about you doesn't mean I would leave you to die the minute we hit trouble." I told him sternly, "and besides, "you told me on your own time."
I didn't think it was my place to throw stones for keeping things from people anymore.
I still hadn't told Andrea that I was staying with Louis by choice now. He had let me free of the deal, I could go home as soon as I wanted to. I just didn't want to.
"Yeah, I did. But I could have told you sooner, I just didn't know how, or how you'd take it."
I nodded, acknowledging him, "and that's okay, you needed time. Opening up to new people isn't something either of us do on a regular basis. We're gangsters. Relatively mentally stable gangsters, but gangsters none the less."
"I don't want to keep things from you anymore though, we're a team."
"We are," I agreed, "I don't want to keep things from you either, and I'm not used to letting people know everything about me, but I want to open up to you."
