"I still can't believe we're together forever," I said turning from the window to look beside me at Selim who held my hand into his as the carriage moved to take us home.

"I can, you're mine now forever," He said pulling my hand up to his lips and kissed them making me blush, and looked down at my lap. He pulled my face up to look at him with a soft a smile on his face when suddenly the carriage stopped in the middle of nowhere.

"What is going on?" I asked confused. Selim shrugged his shoulders. He let go of my hand before opening the door and stepping down to see what was happening.

After a couple of minutes passed I stepped out to see what's taking so long. I froze as I walked down the last step to see all of the guards and drivers dead with arrows sticking out of their bodies with Selim trying to shake one of them awake.

"Selim" I whispered shakily looking around wide-eyed as tears started to form in my eyes. He started walking towards me but suddenly stopped and his eyes became wide open before he dropped to his knees. I ran over to see what happened only to be met with an arrow sticking out of his back.

"No" I whispered as he fell limp in my arms, dead. I pulled out the arrow throwing it on the floor before laying Selim on his back, he stared up at the sky frozen in time, dead. My Selim was dead.

"NO!"

I sat up feeling my throat getting sore from screaming. I was back in my room, in my bed. This was all a nightmare, Selim was alive.

"Hatun" Esma Kalfa ran in pulling on her robe over her sleeping wear and wrapped her arms around my shoulder when she saw my shivering form from both fear and that cold air coming in from the open window hitting my sweaty body.

"Prepare the bath" She ordered the maids that usually stood at the door but ran in when they heard my screams.

"Are you ok?" She asked worriedly patting my head. I nodded shakily and leaned my head against her shoulder feeling overwhelmed. What triggered such a dream? Why was I being paranoid? Was it wedding jitters? My wedding is still a month away though.

After showering I went back to my room to rest feeling exhausted from the horrible dream. I took a sip from the rose tea Esma insisted I drink to calm down. I looked up as the doors opened and my Selim walked in.

"I was told you had a nightmare" He started walking over to me as I stood up and bowed to him.

"I'm fine it was just a bad dream, I don't know what's the fuss about" I admit smiling up at him as he took my hands into his and sat down pulling me down with him.

"What did you see?" He asked softly placing his free hand on my cheek and rubbed it slowly making me close my eyes as the image of his dead body flashed in my head again.

"Y-you dying" I whispered feeling the words heavy against my tongue. He pulled me close when he saw how sad I was. I hugged him as tightly as I can.

"You know if anyone saw us like this they will kill us" He joked making me giggle as we pulled away, he wasn't lying we were still not married so that means we can't be in the same room alone.

"There's the laugh I love hearing," He said smiling at me. He leaned forward and kissed my forehead before leaving me alone in my room.

I stood up and walked over to the window and watched as maids ran around to prepare lunch for the sultan in the gardens since it was a beautiful day outside. I opened the window and took a deep breath of the warm summer air making my insides even warmer from when Selim was in my room.

"I heard Selim was here" I almost groaned out loud as her voice reached my ears. I loved her I really did but she shows up at the worst times. I didn't think she would be here this fast, how do they reach her so fast and tell her?

I turned around and bowed to Hurrem Sultan who stood by the now-closed door, she had a fierce look on her face as she watched my every move.

"He wanted to see me, I got tired last night and my Kalfa overreacted a little," I said justifying his visit. I can't wait for the day where no one would be breathing down our necks and checking up if we were together or not or if we were alone or not. I can't wait for him to marry me and fill all of this space between us.

"How are you feeling now?" She asked nodding her head softly. I still can't understand how my mother was able to survive living with her and her mood swings.

"Much better Sultanim" I answered nodding my head in thanks for her concern.

"Take better care of yourself, can't marry my son to someone who's sick," She said before walking out of the room. I rolled my eyes before turning to the window and continued watching the maids and aghas prepare.

A smile took over my face as a familiar man walked out of the castle and over to the tent along with his brother before they were joined by their father. They sat around a table that was still being prepared. His eyes trailed up the building and met mine causing me to blush and look down to hide my now red face with my hair.

I pulled myself back inside and closed the window and the blinds feeling embarrassed after getting caught watching him and his family. I pushed the blinds a little to the side to see he was still looking at my window and when our eyes met again his smirk making me close them harshly and sit down on my couch. His mere gaze makes my heart run a thousand miles a second. how am I supposed to survive a lifetime with him?
