"How in the world did this happen?" Hürrem sultan asked. Selim didn't wait a second before sending a letter to the capital with everything that had happened that eventful night, that was two weeks ago.

"Beyazid wanted to kill me and she stepped in front of me, she risked her life protecting me" Selim answered rubbing his face. His beard was much longer now and he had red circles under his eyes however for the first time the cause was not alcohol but tiredness and fear.

"She's been asleep for two weeks, when will she wake up?" Mihrimah asked. She was worried over Meylisah, they may have not been on the best of terms before Meylisah married Selim but Mihrimah will never forget the years they were raised together and spent as sisters.

"Do I look like Allah?" Selim snapped standing up from the couch. Hürrem stood up and placed a hand on her son's shoulder to comfort him.

"Selim, you have to calm down. Do not lose your temper in front of your sons" Hürrem pointed to the other side of the room where Ayse Hümasah and Cihangir were entertaining the two and one years old boys.

"You don't understand mother, Meylisah is pregnant and almost lost our child because of your spoiled son" Selim pulled away from his mother. Hürrem sighed sadly and shook her head. She had been worried over Beyazid, Sultan Suleiman demanded that Beyazid should be locked up in a room until he decides what to do with him.

"SEHZADE!" Selim turned towards the door as it burst open and Sümbul ran in screaming. He could only imagine the worst and he felt his heart drop.

"She's awake! Meylisah Sultan is awake" Sümbul looked like he was about to burst out crying himself. Mihrimah laughed in disbelief and stood up from the couch with the biggest smile on her face. Selim pushed past Sümbul and sprinted towards the infirmary where Meylisah was kept.

I groaned feeling stiff all over my body. I tried to move but found that all of my muscles felt heavy. I wiggled my toes and fingers with difficulty. I took a deep breath and willed myself to open my eyes. I looked around me to find myself in the infirmary. The only emotion I felt was disappointment in Beyazid and what he did.

"Sultanim" a midwife addressed me smiling happily.

"Selim" I croaked feeling my throat closing up from how dry it was. She handed me a cup of water and patted my back as I choked a little on the water.

"Where is Selim?" I asked panting. She looked up when the doors opened and Sümbul walked in with a scowl. A huge grin adorned his face when he saw me awake.

"Ya Allah!" He yelled and ran out of the room causing the midwives around the infirmary to giggle among themselves.

"Rest Sultana, your wound is still healing" she helped me lean back against the pillows. I grinned when Selim sprinted into the room. The midwives scrambled around the room to create enough space for us.

"Selim" I held my hands out to him. He pulled me in for a hug without a second thought.

"I was very worried I won't be able to see your angelic face ever again" he whispered pulling away from me. He placed his hands on my cheeks and looked at me as if he couldn't believe his eyes.

"Murad and Orhan, are they alright?" I asked worriedly taking one of his hands into mine.

"They are both alright" Selim smiled patting our intertwined hands. He pulled one of them away confusing me.

"So is this one" his hand slithered over my stomach and placed it softly beside the wound. My heart stopped beating for a second and I just stared at him like an idiot before it finally clicked.

"I'm pregnant?" I asked in a whisper. He chuckled and nodded his head. I giggled and pulled him in for a hug feeling like I couldn't be any happier in my life.

"How are you feeling, Meylisah?" Mihrimah asked softly. I smiled at my childhood best friend.

"Much better now that I am back with the people I love" I answered hugging Orhan closer to my body.

"Welcome back, Meylisah" Sultan Suleiman said. I bowed my head unable to move from the bed to not open my wound again and harm my new child.

"Thank you, your majesty" I smiled softly up at him.

"Since we're all here I will use this opportunity to announce my decision," the sultan said. I held my breath awaiting whatever punishment awaited Beyazid.

"Suleiman-" Hürrem sultan began but the sultan held up his hand silencing her. She took a step back with a grim look on her face.

"I decided that Meylisah should be the one to decide Beyazid's fate," The Sultan said. I stopped breathing for a second. Me? Why would he give me such a burden?

"I think he should be executed for what he did to my wife" Selim hissed angrily. I placed a hand over his elbow since I couldn't reach higher from my sitting position and him standing beside me with Murad in his arms.

"It is Meylisah's decision, not yours," the sultan said with a tone that showed authority.

"May I have time to decide?" I asked shakily. Hürrem sultan snapped her head in my direction. I know that she was expecting me to refuse but how could I let such an opportunity slip from me?

"Of course" the sultan turned around and left the infirmary.

"Meylisah, what do you think you're doing?" Hürrem sultan asked angrily. She took a step closer to the bed glaring at me. Selim without a second thought stepped in front of her blocking me from her view. She looked up at him shocked.

"Meylisah is still wounded and needs rest," Selim said in an emotionless tone. He couldn't believe his mother would even think for a second that Beyazid shouldn't be punished for almost killing him, his wife, and his unborn child. He could see now whose side she was on.

"Come on, mother" Mihrimah pulled Hürrem out of the infirmary. Mihrimah will do whatever was in her power to protect Beyazid and Selim and Meylisah didn't doubt for a second that she would face them with all her might for Beyazid's sake.

"Rest now, my love" Selim sat down beside Meylisah. He smiled when Murad jumped out of his arms and into his mother's feeling jealous of all the attention Orhan was receiving. Selim kissed the side of her head as she watched the brothers in her arms.
