I watched as the maids picked up the plates off the table I just ate breakfast on. I moved my gaze to Emira Kalfa who just walked in.

"His majesty is asking for you in his private courters" I raised my eyebrow. The sultan has asked for me to his private courters a handful of times and they usually were about something very serious.

I got up and let her put on a headscarf on my head before we both walked out of the room and to through the harem to the men's section of the castle where the sultan and pashas usual resident.

I walked down the golden hallway and over to the final corridor of the sultan's room where I saw many maids and harem aghas which meant many where in his room.

I walked in and bowed to the royal family feeling like the black sheep in the room since I was the only one who was not related to them by blood. I took my place beside Mihrimah sultan and looked at the sultan who was sitting on the throne.

Hurrem Sultan was standing the closest to him on the side I stood in with Selim beside her and then Beyazid and lastly Mihrimah who I stood beside.

On the other side stood Mahidevran and prince Mustafa who gave me a sweet smile which I returned, he has always been very nice to me when we meet which were not a lot of times. Beside him stood Sultana Fatima who was the sultan's sister and Huricihan, Hatice sultan's daughter.

"Well since Meylisah has finally joined us I can finally tell you why I decided to invite all of you here" the sultan began.

"I decided to marry Meylisah to Ali pasha by the end of the month. May this marriage be blessed" I stopped breathing for a moment as amens started to fill the room.

I felt like I was suffocating which made me gasp for air and lean on Mihrimah as my other hand went to my neck as if that will help let air into my lungs.

I was falling on my knees as my gaze started to waver. I ignored the pain in my knees as I fell to the floor and leaned down on my hands barely able to hold myself up.

"Meylisah!" I looked up as I was pushed up to see red hair but no face on the person in front of me. I was losing consciousness as I fell backward on one of the many pillows placed on the floor to be sat on for us to eat lunch with the sultan soon. Everything turned black as I felt the red-headed man being pulled off me and I knew that it was Selim for I felt his touch yesterday and I could never forget his voice.

I slowly felt myself wake up but didn't want to open my eyes just yet to not face the horrible reality that was set in stone against my will

I slowly felt myself wake up but didn't want to open my eyes just yet to not face the horrible reality that was set in stone against my will. But my nerves had another idea and my hands twitched which earned their attention.

"She's waking up" I mentally sighed in defeat and opened my eyes to see that I was now laying in my bed in my room with Mihrimah sultan sitting beside me and Hurrem sultan standing at the end of the bed.

"How are you?" Mihrimah sultan asked genuinely worried about me.

"I'm fine sultana, I probably shouldn't have left my bed so early when I knew that I was tired," I said sitting up with her help which I didn't need. I wasn't sick I was just in despair.

"How many times do I have to tell you to take care of yourself" Hurrem sultan scolded me making me look down at my hands feeling tears build up in my eyes.

"I'm sorry" I muttered. I felt Mihrimah sultan take my hand into hers squeezing it slightly.

"How will we be able to face your husband if we gave you to him sick," she said jokingly making me clench my fists.

"Mother lets leave her to rest" Mihrimah suggested. Hurrem sultan nodded and left me with Mihrimah in the room alone.

"I don't want to marry Alin pasha" I sobbed placing my hands over my face. Mihrimah sultan pulled me in for a hug rubbing my back knowing just how much pain I am in. When I calmed down I whipped my eyes embarrassed that I let her see me so vulnerable.

"Meylisah, I have a question," Mihrimah said sitting back and looked at me seriously. I nodded at her to continue.

"Is there something going on between you and Selim?" Her question confused me and shocked me a lot.

"What?" Was all I could master as I looked up at her with tears still running down my cheeks.

"That's the only explanation I have for the way he reacted to the whole mess this noon. He looked so mad that I was scared he would jump and strangle our father and then he was the first to reach you when you fainted and you should've seen the fear" she explained. My heart clenched sadly as she spoke of him.

"What would you say if I said yes?" I asked. She seemed shocked that I gave in so easily but to be honest I wasn't scared for myself anymore for I was going to hell by the end of the month.

"You mean-?" She asked an unfinished question that we both knew the end of. I nodded my head and looked down at my hands feeling tears build up again in my eyes.

"I love him" I whispered. I could feel a tear run down my face as I spoke.

"I love him so much I see this marriage as hell and I'd rather die than go through with it" I continued in a low voice scared to be heard. I didn't care for myself but I was scared that if anyone knew that will ruin Selim.

"Get better soon, Meylisah," she said patting my shoulder before leaving me alone in my room to sink lower in my sorrow and tears. That night everyone heard my crying as they passed my room.
