I didn't look up when the doors to my room opened and continued to pretend that I was asleep, I didn't feel like seeing or talking to anyone today. I wanted to wrap myself in my blankets and sleep in my bed. The bed dipped down by my side meaning someone sat down on the bed.

"Wake up Meylisah" It was the smooth voice of Selim. I tightened my grip on the blanket willing myself to not listen to him.

"Wake up darling" Selim whispered leaning down to kiss me on the cheek. I felt disgusted at the idea that his lips touched another the night before and now they were touching me.

"Leave me alone" I hissed pulling away from his touch. I know that acting like this was childish because it was his right to have concubines and all but I couldn't help the hurt I felt when she walked in dressed like she was going to a party.

"I sent her away" Selim admit beside me. I pushed the blanket off of my head and looked up at him. I tried reading his blue eyes to see if he was lying or telling the truth.

"Why? She was a present from your mother" I asked sitting up. I crossed my arms and waited for him to answer.

"I care about you too much to let her stay. I couldn't go with it because you were the only thing on my mind" Selim took hold of my hand and squeezed it.

"How long did she stay in your room?" I asked curiously

"How long did she stay in your room?" I asked curiously. I awaited the heartache of her staying long enough to steal a kiss from his lips.

"Around three seconds after you left" Selim answered. I giggled and shook my head feeling relief fill my body.

"I love you, Selim, the mere thought of you with someone else broke me" I whispered raising out intertwined hands and placing a soft kiss on his knuckles.

"I love you, even more, I couldn't even look in her direction without feeling disgusted. I swear to you Meylisah that I haven't touched a woman since we got married even Nurbanu and I never will as long as I live" his words made my heart soar with happiness. I felt tears in my eyes at his confession. What made me love Selim so much was the way he made me feel special and appreciated and respected me like I should be respected as a woman.

_Flashback_

"What are you doing?" I asked crossing my arms. Selim jumped and turned around to face me with horror all over his face. Beyazid smirked at my arrival and crossed his arms smugly.

"The both of you are so childish, when will you two grow up?" I asked angrily. Beyazid's smirk dropped and Selim looked down in shame. I had caught them fighting yet again and if I hadn't intervened then there was a possibility that it would have turned physical.

"We were just arguing, you know the normal" Beyazid answered trying to lighten the mood. It was obvious why he was being like this, he didn't want me to tell Hürrem sultan.

"Cut to the chase, what do you want Meylisah?" Selim asked glaring at me. I smirked at him and wrapped my arm around his shoulder much to his shock, his cheeks turned bright red causing a smirk to return to Beyazid's face.

"That's what I like most about you, my friend, you know me very well" I stirred him and started walking away leaving Beyazid behind. He decided not to follow much to my relief, he probably thought Selim could handle me and was thinking of ways to tease Selim even more.

"I want a hug" I pulled away from Selim only to open my arms wide. Selim smiled shyly and hugged me. He was almost a whole head taller than me which gave him the advantage to rest his head on top of mine.

"I wish we could stay as children so we can keep doing this. When we grow older they will force us to not even look each other in the eyes" I mumbled against his chest. Selim pulled away and looked down at me with a sad smile on his face.

"I will marry you so we can keep hugging forever" Selim promised. I felt hope shimmy inside of me, however, that hope was crushed years later when we grew up and were truly forced apart but I thank Allah every day that he gave us the courage to admit our feelings and face the sultan and get married.

_End Of Flashback_

"Remember what you promised me when we were younger?" I asked returning to the reality around me. Selim raised his eyebrow with a smirk on his lips that made my heart skip a beat.

"I promised you many things as a child, you have to be more specific, dear" Selim teased. I giggled as his fingers tickled my side.

"You promised to marry me for the sole reason of eternal hugs" I reminded. Selim chuckled as the memory replayed in his head.

"Come here" Selim opened his arms. I pushed the covers off me and crawled on his lap. I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him as tightly as possible and he hugged me back just as tight. I know that Hürrem sultan will be mad over Selim sending the concubine back but that didn't matter as long as he was mine and in my arms.

"I love you" I whispered in his ear. Selim rubbed up and down my back as if he was comforting me however his touch sent shivers all over my body.

"I love you too" Selim pulled away from me and looked me straight in the eyes, blue clashing with brown. He placed his hand on my chin and stirred my head so our noses were almost touching.

"You are my precious jewel and my most important victory, Meylisah, I will burn the world if a tear leaves your gorgeous eyes. I will kill every person in the world if you frown. Whoever touches you with anything even something as soft as a flower, they will meet their end on my hands. Do not ever cry ever because it breaks me to see tears shine in your beautiful dark eyes"

I hugged Selim tightly feeling touched by his beautiful words and the honesty in his eyes. This was the man I chose to love and marry, this was the father of my children. I couldn't wait for us to have a daughter one day for the sole reason of seeing how he will treat her and I'm sure he will love her with all his heart and treat her even better than our boys.
