"Selim, you have to listen to me" I begged my husband pulling on his arm. Selim sighed and rubbed the area between his eyebrows.

"What do you want me to do?" Selim asked pulling away from me. I took his hands into mine as a way to make him stay concentrated on me.

"Win the people over so your father favor over your brothers" I answered

"Win the people over so your father favor over your brothers" I answered. Selim sighed again and shook his head in almost defeat.

"How?" He asked. I could see that he was starting to lose hope from that area of his mission.

"Help them, catch the criminals yourself and donate money to the poor, send them presents and pamper them other than fixings their problems. I heard there has been a water problem, fix it and try not to cause trouble" I answered. Selim seems conflicted but eventually nodded his head defeated and took in my advice.

"Can we stop talking about such stuff, I miss you and wish to spend time with you" Selim whined. I chuckled and stood up from the couch and stepped closer to him. I sat down on his lap and wrapped my arms around his neck.

"I'm all yours" I whispered rubbing his jawline. Selim sighed in content. He wrapped his arms around my waist pulling me closer to him.

"I love you" he whispered. He leaned his forehead against mine. My heart fluttered at the three-worded sentence.

"I love you too" I whispered back. One of his hands trailed up my back rubbing it softly as if he was comforting me.

"I wish to give you the world. I promise one day when I become sultan I will make the world kneel at your feet, Meylisah" Selim promised. Tears burned my eyes but I forced them back.

"I don't need the world as long as I have you and our children" I mumbled trying hard not to let my voices crack. Selim leaned his head against my shoulder and planted a soft romantic kiss in the areas my neck and shoulder met.

"I will still give it to you. I will make all your wishes come true and make sure you are always happy" Selim muttered against my skin making me shudder as his breath hit the sensitive part of my skin.

"I'm always happy when in your arms" I muttered in his ear. I let one of my hands tangle itself in his flaming red hair while the other one ran down his back.

"You make me very happy Meylisah, I don't know what I will do if you ever leave me. I would probably return to drinking myself to death" Selim pulled away to look me in the eyes. I placed my hand on his cheek feeling tears filling my eyes again and one tear rolled down my cheek but Selim reached up and wiped it off with his thumb.

"I would never leave you. You're the air I breathe Selim. I've loved you since we were children. I fell in love with you when you fought Beyazid when he pushed me when I was five" Selim chuckled at the memory. I will never forget that day, Hürrem sultan was not happy about this incident and lectured all three of us on how to behave better.

"I fell for you when you covered for me in front of his majesty after I ruined Beyazid's present" I burst out laughing at the memory. Selim was a very jealous teenager which now I found funny because in my eyes he was much better than Beyazid.

"Remember our first kiss in the garden?" I asked. I rubbed the back of Selim's neck as he chuckled.

"When Cihangir caught us and you freaked out over getting pregnant with twins?" Selim asked raising an eyebrow. My cheeks turned scarlet red at the reminder of the stupid suggestion I gave back then.

"I was still young," I said defensively. Selim pulled me in for a quick yet passionate kiss.

"Those days will never return but I'm glad we still have them as memories" Selim whispered. He reached over and pushed my hair back behind my ear.

"Promise me that you will do as I told you. I want to make sure you and our children are loved because that is the only way for you to be safe" I mumbled looking him straight into his blue eyes that he shared with our youngest son, Orhan.

"I promise, Meylisah. I will always take your advice into consideration" Selim placed a kiss on my forehead. I sighed relieved. I leaned my head on his shoulder feeling mentally exhausted.

"It's alright love, I'm right here" Selim assured patting my back. I hugged him tightly fearing the consequences he would have faced if he hadn't listened to me about his drinking habits.

"Promise me that you will love only me" I pulled away and looked down into his eyes. The look in Selim's eyes made me feel butterflies in my stomach, his eyes were filled with love and adoration.

"I promise to never love another, never to think of another, and never bed another" Selim whispered. The last part almost made me sigh in relief, I knew the traditions and I was glad Selim decided to let them go for me as sultan Suleiman did for Hürrem sultan.

"You have no idea how happy your words made me" Selim leaned up and placed a passionate kiss on my lips.

"You make me happy overall," Selim said as if this was a competition and he needed to win. I laughed patting his cheek.

"I'm not Beyazid" I reminded him. Selim laughed and kissed me deeper.

"If you were then you wouldn't be in this position and my lips would definitely not meet yours" Selim gestured to me sitting on his lap. I giggled and kissed him again. I couldn't get enough of his lips, he was addicting and I couldn't get enough of him. He was the only drug I would let myself get addicted to.
